A Hidden Gem in Venice: A Restaurant Review

Tucked away in the charming streets of Venice, we stumbled upon a remarkable restaurant that epitomizes Italian culinary excellence. It was a cozy haven on a chilly winter evening, and after hearing rave reviews from several sources, we decided to try it out. Thankfully, we made reservations beforehand, and upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed with fresh, delicious bread.

Famished like ravenous beasts, we eagerly dove into the menu. The local wine, the server's recommendation, proved to be an excellent choice, perfectly complementing our meal. The risotto was truly outstanding, surpassing any we had tasted in Rome or Florence. The pumpkin appetizer was equally delightful, bursting with flavor despite its simple ingredients. Even the kids' pasta, made with basic ingredients, was cooked to perfection. To cap off the incredible experience, we savored a delectable tiramisu.

Our only regret was the limitations of our appetites, as we longed to try more dishes. This restaurant is undoubtedly a must-visit for anyone seeking a taste of authentic Italian cuisine. We will certainly return on our next visit to this captivating city and highly recommend it...

Hotel is okay, staff is below average, the restaurant staff is terrible.

In response to the hotel's lies below, here is what actually happened, and it seems the owner didn't want to investigate, so just made up a story attacking us: We were staying at the hotel and called down to make a reservation at the restaurant. We came down from our room to have a dessert off the MENU (which I did see online) and the staff sat us down at a table. We were handed the menu. After a long wait, the waiter came over and asked for our order. We ordered dessert. The waiter said 'NO', left the table for a few minutes and came back to tell us we (hotel guests) cannot just have dessert here, we must leave and go to bar. The bar did not have dessert options that we had chosen from the MENU that the hotel had online (and on the menu given to us by the restaurant waiter). We complained to the front desk but no luck.

And now the owner is writing this response.. wouldn't recommend staying at Saturnia or eating at their...

In short : Great food ! Probably some of the best pasta I've had in my life, tiramisu was perfect also, the crew was nice and helpful, I strongly recommend.

Prices are high, but taking into account the quality of the food and service, and the location. It is fair !

I had a "ratatouille" moment with the shrimp and truffle pasta, fireworks in my mouth ! Quantity is not crazy, but at least you make sure your savouring every bite ! The tiramisu was well done, not drowning in coffee and very tasty.

The interior of the restaurant is very nice ! I think everything is homemade which is rare in such a touristy location, and if not, it was convincing.

Overall it is a big yes for me ! Prices are on the expensive side, but if you're looking for more than a nice pizza in the streets, this is it !

(Ended up paying about 50 euros for one person).

Thank you for the great food ! Can't go there for lunch every day but I...

Most of the reviews said pricey and small portions; however, I saw nothing small about these portions and the prices were well worth the quality. While not located by the water, the restaurant has a beautiful patio seating area. The service is excellent, attentive, and friendly. The risotto was so delicious and came with a foamy fish sauce which, when mixed with the risotto, made the entire dish! The cheese plate is also excellent and comes with honey topped with herbs, and a fresh tomato sauce. There are about 5 different types of cheeses and they all go well with a different combination of bread, honey, and jam. Highly recommend. Other highly recommend dishes: cheese board as an appetizer, risotto for primi, eggplant parmesan as the main (fair warning, there is no pasta, but it was nonetheless amazingly tasty!), souffle for dessert.
