Tanoyu onsen — Local services in Beppu

Nice local hot spring, close to Beppu station. Entrance ¥100, pay at the reception where you can also get your onsen stamp. You need to bring your own towels and shampoo but you can also buy everything you need from the reception (¥50~¥220). Operating hours 06:30-22:30, no parking. The lockers cost ¥100 but the changing area is connected to the tub so you can see your stuff while bathing. The tub is rectangle shape with round corners, medium size, made of small tiles with plenty of space around the wash. There are two hand rails to help the elder people get in the bath. There are three places with mirrors and a tap (no shower head) where you can wash with a stool and a bucket. The facilities are spacious with a high ceiling, beautiful tiles on the lower part of the walls (some of them have the image of fruits and flowers), many windows, clean and tidy. I don't know if it was just the time I visited but the locals here don't seem so connected as they don't greet each other when they enter. ♨️心遣いが身に染みる人情温泉♨️

浴場の創設は江戸時代と伝えられ、上の田の湯、川の湯、野田ノ湯とも呼ばれており村人に親しまれた温泉です。

掃除休憩後の15:00丁度に訪問しましたが、既に２名が来湯されてました。その内の１名は既に脱衣所で湯上がり…着替えておられました。

いつもの様に挨拶をして、着替えてると、お湯熱いから水を足してるから‼️と声掛けしてくださいました。やっぱり別府の人は優しいわ😍 と気持ちよく入浴してると、またまた先客の方から声掛けがあり、ぬるかったら水止めていいからね‼️ごゆっくり‼️と。ザ…よそ者で入浴してるのに心が温まりました⤴️

浴槽は大人６人は入れる様な大型で、惜しげもなく温泉が投入&オーバーフロー💧気持ちいいが、今日は何湯目状態🥵だったので、15分で上がりました。それにしても、気持ちいい共同浴場でした。

2024.2.19 駅チカの温泉で、支払いは番台形式。当日は3軒　をはしご入浴したのだが、番台に人がいたのはここだけだった。地域の方以外も入浴する方が多いのだろう、先客が4人いらした。 浴室は2x4メートル位の湯船が1つで、長方形の角を丸くした形だ。また湯船と浴槽の床には5センチ角のタイル張り。 温泉は51℃のナトリウム・マグネシウム・カルシウムー炭酸水素塩温泉で無色透明。析出物が浴槽上面にありカルシウムが固まっているようだ。高温のため加水して利用されていた。店の方が熱いから水のそばで入りな、と教えてくれたが44℃はなさそうで、ちょっと熱いかなという感じ。pH8.0なのでツルツル感があるかと思ったが、特に感じられない。多量に加水してるとは思えないので、...
