If you have the chance to visit Kyoto, Chasanraku is an absolute must and a wonderful addition to your itinerary. Tucked away in a peaceful corner of the city, this tea stand offers a truly authentic and memorable matcha experience.

I had the pleasure of meeting Suzuki-san, who graciously taught me the proper way to prepare and enjoy matcha. She explained each step with such care and warmth, making the experience feel both educational and deeply personal. I enjoyed my tea in their serene tea room overlooking a beautiful garden — a quiet moment of reflection that perfectly captured the spirit of Kyoto.

What makes Chasanraku even more special is their thoughtfully curated selection of matcha. Each bag showcases a different farmer, allowing visitors to learn about the people who dedicate their lives to cultivating this beloved tea. I found it so meaningful to see exactly where my matcha came from and to know it was prepared with such love and attention.

I also tried their shaved ice dessert, which was refreshing and perfectly complemented the tea. Every detail, from the presentation to the hospitality, made this visit unforgettable.

Chasanraku is not just a place to drink tea — it’s a place to connect with the culture, craftsmanship, and heart behind Japan’s matcha tradition. I’ll definitely be returning here on my next trip to Kyoto. 🌿🍵✨

こちらのお店では 日本全国の茶農家から直接仕入れた日本茶を使ったスイーツやドリンクがいただけます🍵🌿.•*

一歩店内に足を踏み入れると周囲の喧騒から離 ゆっくりと過ごせます( ᵕᴗᵕ )

私たちが案内された席は 中庭を望むお座敷で外国人観光客にも人気らしく 海外の方が京都堪能されてた🌸◦°

作ってるとこを見たくて店員さんにお願いしたら 「作る時にお声かけさせていただきます( ᴖ ·̫ ᴖ )」ってとっても優しかった( ʚ̴̶̷́ ༝ ʚ̴̶̷̥̀ )

まずは器に早速抹茶エスプーマをたっぷり注入🍵

かき氷を盛ってシロップ、抹茶パウダーをかけ さらに器に ある程度かき氷を盛りつけたら 途中で真ん中にくぼみを作って……。

中にエスプーマをたっぷりと注入- ̗̀ ( ˶'ᵕ'˶) ̖́-

さらに氷を重ねてシロップをかけたあとは 仕上げに抹茶エスプーマをこれでもか！ というくらいのせていきます(っ ॑꒳ ॑c)

The ceremony itself is very peaceful and gives a sense of tranquility. She also explained the different types of matcha and differences in flavor based on how it is grown.
