Nishiumeda City Clinic — Local services in Osaka

Tiny underground clinic, currently very popular with people who need to take COVID-19 PCR tests for overseas travel. Convenient location and cheaper than the other 3 or so clinics we checked, no hidden costs, and I would consider using them again if circumstances forced me to get another test, but the waiting system was very disorganized and chaotic and certainly not properly "socially distanced". We waited for about an hour after arriving at 10:30 am. The nurse assumed I didn't speak Japanese, which in itself is fine, but she just told me "Nose!" instead of asking "Would you prefer a nasal swab or a saliva test?" like (I later found out) they ask the Japanese test-takers. Their website says you'll get results 7pm the same day, but we didn't end up getting them until...

(English review below) 昨日、私は体調が悪く、COVID-19かどうかを確認したくて診察を受けに行きました。受付の方々はとても親切で協力的でしたが、私の否定的なレビューは医師からです。診察室に入ると、状態についていくつかの質問を受けました（ただ既に記入したフォームで回答もうした質問でした）。彼は「どうされますか」と聞かれ、コロナウィルスの検査を希望したが、彼は発熱していたためテストを受ける意味がないと言いました。彼はちょっとしか舌をチェックしました。ほとんど診察を受けず、1600円も請求されました。そのクリニックの病院でも薬もらえなかったし、家の近くで買ってくださいと言われた。じゃあ、何のために行ったんでしょうか？私の状態を推測するためですか？

その後、別のクリニックに行ってコロナウィルス陽性が確認されました。こうした医師のせいで、人々はより病気になることがあります。仕事をきちんとやりたくないのなら、やらないほうが良いです。彼のような不注意なミスのために人々が亡くなってしまいます。ここには行かない方がいいです。お金を無駄にするだけです。

他の星が低いレビューからでもこのクリニックは「この度は総合所見のコメントでご迷惑お掛けして申し訳御座いませんでした。今回のご意見を参考に、コメントの見直しをさせて頂きます。」というコメントしか答えていません。何ヶ月前でも見直していませんでした。最低やん。

I went there yesterday to get a check up because I have been feeling sick and wanting to see if I had Covid-19. The receptionists were very nice and accommodating but my negative review comes from the doctor himself. Upon entering the room, I get asked a few questions about my condition (mind you these were questions I had already answered to from the form I filled in) and he simply replies with “so what do you need?” I requested to be checked for Covid-19 as I don’t want to spread it and he tells me that it would be pointless to take a test anyways because I was feverish at the time. He checked my tongue “just in case” and concluded I only needed medicine. I barely got a check and they charged me 1600¥?? For what? Guessing my condition?

I went to another clinic right after that and tested POSTIVE for Corona. It’s doctors like him that make people more sick. If you don’t want tdo your job right, just don’t do it at all. People die because of careless mistakes like him. Don’t go here. You’ll just waste your money.

(Update Oct4th) From their reply, it’s proving my point further that they DID NOT provide the proper medical attention I needed, putting my health at RISK. As I mentioned above, I went to a different clinic and tested POSITIVE for Corona. So his MISJUDGMENT, could have risked other people’s health. I understand that it is the clinic’s decision to decide to give out tests or not but judging the fact that I voiced my concerned and they were immediately shut down, I am beyond frustrated that this clinic does not accept it’s misjudgments. TLDR: Clean, professional & friendly staff, affordable, and efficient. Recommend if you're a tourist looking for medical help!

I had symptoms of a cold including sore throat and runny nose. The employees and I used Google Translate and they were able to guide through the paperwork and entire process. The attending doctor I spoke with also spoke some English. The total time from arriving to exiting was about 1 hour.

The office was very clean, quiet, and the staff was very friendly. Interestingly at the end, it was a self-payment machine. I paid roughly about $50 CAD for the medication and consultation, much more affordable than expected.
