Osaka Guesthouse Sakura — Local services in Osaka

This place has some inaccurate reviews. I stayed here for 12 nights and it was quite clean. The staff changed the bedding immediately after guests checked out, cleaned the room, bathrooms and shower rooms daily. Everything was kept in good condition so I felt confident about using the facilities. There are NO bdbgs or other pests. Also, there is free WiFi and it works great.

The restaurant on the first floor, run by the same owners, is delicious and cheap as well. I’m missing the food now. The owner is so kind and even gave me free food. Her son speaks great English so you will have no issues communicating.

The location is amazing! It’s right in downtown umeda a short walk from convenience stores, grocery stores, bars, restaurants and shopping.

My only complaint would be that the mattress is quite thin, making it uncomfortable especially if you have any joint or back pain. There’s also several stairs to climb if you’re on the third or fourth floor, which can be inconvenient of you struggle with chronic pain. The 16 bed female dorm feels a bit...

“Good hostel but confusing whether its a restaraunt or hostel?”

We chose this hostel because it was the cheapest by far in terms of cost-to-location ratio. It didn't have serious issues that would make it "un-stayable" but it was frustrating at times. Some main ones being the wifi only worked at certain times on certain floors, as the staff seemingly just used all of it for video calling family members. There was also a restaurant in the property which served food to outside customers. The only issue with this being is that the showers are on the basement floor, so if you wanted an evening shower you have to walk through a sometimes very busy restaurant in order to do so. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!!! Don’t be fooled by the fake 5 star reviews because this place should be closed down. IT IS UNLIVABLE!!! IT HAS MOLD AND BED BUGS!!!!!!! THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!!! THEY WANT YOU TO PAY CASH UP FRONT SO THEY CAN TAKE YOUR MONEY/ NOT MAKE YOU SIGN ANYTHING. The guy in the front desk got a total of $200 from us. He wouldn't give us our money back after we saw how horrible the sleeping situation is. That was an easy $200 straight to his wallet.
