food was actually amazing. unfortunately, service was SUPER slow. waited an hour for my pizza to be served.
one thing that annoyed me most is that it took an hour for my order to be served, whereas the table next to me got their pizza first, just 15mins after they arrived.
i understand there’s only one person who cooked but still at least it’ll be a nice gesture for the staff to at least give us a heads up if the order is going to be delayed. no explanation from the staff that the food will be served in a course basis. some menus took longer preparation time too but it wasn’t properly explained. not sure if it’s a language barrier issue. if i knew that the appetizer will took 30-40mins to be prepared, i wouldn’t ordered it and will only get the pizza. i tried to explain that i have a shinkansen to catch but the staff insisted that it is impossible for her to give me estimated preparation time for the food.
2 pizza and 2 appetizer with 1 water and 1 ginger ale cost almost jpy15k, which i honestly think is quite an expensive price point compared with the service i received.
i am not one to write this type of review but i really think that the service needs to be improved. if there are rules that the customer needs to know, it will be nice to have the staff explained it before taking our food order. having a clear communication will at least tackle these unecessary issue.
other than that, the pizza was tasty and the appetizer was...

Read moreDuring my stay in Osaka, I had the pleasure of dining at "Dal Donnaiolo" not once, but twice. The chef and owner, Jon, was nothing short of fantastic. Not only did he serve up a marvelous pizza, but he also made us feel right at home, though we were miles away.
Jon, who has spent several years living and working in kitchens in Naples, has brought his wealth of experience to Japan with "Dal Donnaiolo." His culinary skills are exceptional, and he prides himself on using exclusively Italian products. The pizza was deliciously authentic, with the freshness of the mozzarella, sourced directly from Naples, shining through.
I also ventured to try the pistachio-crusted tuna, which I found to be outstanding. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to enjoy true Italian cuisine.
Thank you, Jon, for welcoming us with open arms. I wish you...
