My husband was getting a tattoo so I decided to get a haircut and after reading reviews I decided to go to this salon which is right by the Shibuya crossing.

I had perhaps high expectations that they spoke good English but that wasn't so.

I asked for Yoshi as other reviewers said he was good and spoke English, and luckily he was available.

I used pictures and google translate to explain what I wanted and he did speak more English than the people at reception who did not speak at all.

The main differences in comparison with a British salon were:

the guy washing my hair was thorough and the massage good. He even dried inside my ears which surprised and made me giggle. The haircut was good, he did some on wet hair then more when the hair was dry

‐ they did not use styling products like heat protector serum (even though he used a straightening iron), kerastase spray for frizzy hair, just a bit of styling wax at the end and only after I asked. Not sure why I was covered with thick blanked and pillows- it was boiling outside so it was too warm but maybe is a Japanese thing

I paid 5400JPY (and 1000JPY tip) so it was cheaper than England but then the experience was not as good so I think it's a fair price.
