Incredible Ramen with Unforgettable Flavors – A Must-Visit in Japan
Jikasei MENSHO exceeded all expectations with its beautifully crafted ramen dishes. We ordered the Spicy Ramen and the Vegan Spicy Ramen, and both were nothing short of exceptional, showcasing the artistry and dedication that makes Japanese ramen world-renowned.
The Spicy Ramen was a bold and flavorful masterpiece. The broth was incredibly rich, with a perfect level of spiciness that didn’t overpower but rather enhanced the umami notes. The noodles were springy and cooked to perfection, while the toppings – from tender slices of meat to fresh vegetables – elevated the dish to new heights.
The Vegan Spicy Ramen was equally impressive and a pleasant surprise. The broth was packed with depth and complexity, proof that vegan options can be just as satisfying. The vibrant array of vegetables and tofu provided a delightful contrast to the smooth and flavorful noodles. It’s clear that the vegan ramen was crafted with as much care and thought as the traditional version.
The atmosphere at Jikasei MENSHO was warm and inviting, with modern touches that make it a comfortable place to enjoy an authentic bowl of ramen. The staff were friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall experience.
If you’re in Japan and love ramen (or even if you’re new to it), Jikasei MENSHO is a destination worth prioritizing. The attention to detail, innovative offerings, and unforgettable flavors make it a standout ramen spot that will linger in your memory long after the last bite.
Highly recommended for both foodies and ramen...

What I wanted to highlight is the discriminatory treatment we received by their bespectacled staff. There was a western couple sitting next to us at the counter. When they finished their meal, they picked up their trays and stood up to bring to the tray return area. However the service staff ran over and insisted “please put down your trays, I will clear it”. The western couple said that it’s fine as they have already picked up the trays. “I insist,” said the service staff. “I will clear your trays for you.”
I saw all of this happening next to me. So I told my family member, let’s test if he would treat us similarly.
So when we finished our meal, we waited until the service staff was next to us and had nothing else to do. We got up from our seats and lifted our trays. Sure enough, he just stood there and smiled at us, not even lifting a finger!
I would like to find out from the management what did we do to deserve discriminatory service? Why did your waiter proactively volunteered to clear the trays of western customers and did nothing for Asians?
I definitely would want an...
Read moreThis was my first proper vegan experience in Tokyo, and what an experience! Initially I wanted to go to Izakaya Masaka, which took a while to find because google maps was giving me a much distant place than inside CHAOS Kitchen, on the B1F floor. As Izakaya was full for the night (and they would be so everyday I visited), I went instead there.
You can choose your desired dish at a machine that has English. It didn’t take my IC Card, weirdly enough as the option was there, but my debit Mastercard worked.
They offer you water and then call your number to pick up your food, you can put your bag/belongings in the openable squared seating boxes. The experience of sitting together close with other people in a lively environment and joining talks makes for a wonderful dining experience. The staff is ready to answer questions or help, even if with limited English.
The food itself was absolutely tasty, once I started eating it I simply didn’t stop. The vegan Tantan with soup was great, and the one without soup that another customer ordered was also looking nice and different! And they of course have also non-vegan dishes. I recommend checking this place out, both if you are planning to be in Shibuya or...
