I was wandering Akihabara aimlessly, not particularly interested in anything. I then saw the old building, decided to take a look, and chanced upon Meywa Denki. I produce some music, so the devices seemed oddly familiar, especially the Otomatone. I was blown away by what the Gumbass was capable of, it was too good to pass up. I refused to walk out without it.

But this review is not just about the product. The salesperson (who also seemed to be the device technician) was such a blast to deal with. Initially shy, he found my enthusiasm for the devices infectious, and proceeded to join me on an impromptu jam right then and there, showing me the different machines, the merchandise. He was patient, tried his best to communicate in the language I was comfortable with.

I write this review to show my gratitude to the utter joy I experienced buying the Gumbass. I did not expect to leave Meywa Denki with that stupid smile on my face. The experience was a blast from start to finish and their instruments are so funny, so quirky, yet have a learning curve and a creative, fresh approach to music.

This is not only a fantastic shop, but also an awesome experience when visiting Akihabra. It contains the kooky and joyful musical inventions of Maywa Denki, with friendly staff who are able to demonstrate and play along with the instruments.
