Books Kinokuniya Seibu Shibuya Store — Local services in Tokyo

For international manga fans, there might be a reason to visit Kinokuniya on the seventh floor of Seibu Shibuya, just a short walk from Shibuya Station. This store is not particularly large, and the selection is quite limited. It's hit-or-miss whether you'll find the manga you're looking for.

However, I did find some books translated into English, which is quite rare. Be prepared for sticker shock, though, as the prices can be more than four times what you'd pay in Japan. It's amazing what overseas collectors are willing to spend!

I also stumbled upon an autographed shikishi from Haruichi Furudate, the creator of "Haikyuu!!" It's truly a gem. If you're looking for a wider selection of your favorite manga, nearby stores like Animate or Mandarake might be better bets. Great store that was close to my school. I got so caught up in the variety of books that I had been wanting to buy that I had to pay a little extra at the airport for exceeding the weight limit😅 Lots of different manga, the variety was great. Only a bit hard to look for something unless you understand the way they are sorted (I wasn't able to read much in japanese at the time so I had to ask a bit of help). Lots of drawing guidebooks and language learning textbooks. I also found a book teaching japanese sign language, so I was happy! I ended up buying over 40 books.. The staff was nice and we got along well even though I couldn't do much small talk...

Sadly, now that this is the biggest bookstore in Shibuya. As many good authentic bookstores have been closed recently, book lovers now have chosen not to come to Shibuya as they used to. This store is good enough you can find general books and some for specialists, but there is no English book or magazine. If you want to get English books, your opinions are only Shinjuku Kinokuniya or Maruzen near Tokyo station. But you can find Japanese...
