Carhartt WIP Store Tokyo Harajuku — Local services in Tokyo

DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE. I went to the store and tried on a knit sweater (that was too small) from the top floor and a guy clerk said it was okay to try on. Then I went to the basement level where a different female clerk followed me down, as soon as I asked to try on a shirt and long sleeve, IMMEDIATELY SAID NO. I tried to explain how I tried something on literally 2 minutes ago upstairs but with the language barrier it was difficult. She then went back upstairs and came down with this plaque that said in English “there’s no trying on shirts for sanitary purposes”. Then I asked if pants were okay to try on and she said yes?! How does that makes any sense!! I was super frustrated at the lack of consistency in their customer service and just left after hoping to purchase a shirt. I’m not sure if this happened because they DISCRIMINATE against tourists or if it’s related to RACE, but this is not acceptable and I will forever keep this in mind with Carhartt WIP. Please let me know if anyone else has experienced...

Got a pair of shorts I really liked. first thing they said was No Refund. I tried them on and decided to buy them. 1 week later, I went on my bike and the shorts ripped at the crotch area. it wasn't even a sudden movement. It just pulled a little and the fabric tore. .. 19,000 yens!!!!!!!!!

I bought another pair online in the meantime but somehow I received the wrong side, maybe a mistake from my side but even then, I tried to contact the customer support to get a replacement, no replies.

Wanted to try on a T-shirt to check the fitting but staff unfortunately told me “no trying”. Can’t confirm if this rule applies to all products but not being able to try on a T-shirt seems ridiculous to me. However, great selection of products. Subpar customer...
