Happy to have this pharmacy so close to the Hotel Metropolitan! Getting what I needed was as simple as walking out one door and into another 20 steps away. It was just my bad luck to arrive on a weekend and to have to wait for Monday to get something. There is a wide variety of goods here, so not only can you pick up prescriptions, but you can find all manner of beauty care, toiletries, every day goods and snacks along with many over the counter remedies.

A wonderful staff member help me, only for her to turn out to be a pharmacist. She was stocking the shelves and made the time to help me find some cough suppressants. When I checked out, she swung behind the counter to give the the usual (mandatory) questionnaire about who is this medication for, what symptoms am I treating etc. I know other travelers have feared this, and other places have made customers felt like they were an interrogation, but here it was completely non-aggressive and approachable. Being right across from a major travel hotel, they had a laminated questionnaire in English already prepared! During our discussion (using a mix of beginner's Japanese, English, and Google Translate) this wonderful pharmacist first recommended a second more tailored product before switching it to a third in order to avoid mixing complications with my Asthma inhaler. 本当に行きたくなかったけど、どうしても時間がなくて調剤薬局にロキソニンを買いに行ってしまいました。 いつも語気の強いスタッフの方は今日もいらっしゃいました。 カウンターのロキソニンをお願いしたら、すごく機嫌の悪い声で「お待ちの方がいらっしゃるので、１時間かかっちゃいますっ！」と、言われました。 そこに見えてるロキソニンに一時間ですか…。それは仕方ないですね。 しかし、待っている方がいて忙しいのは、私のせいではありません。来局者にイライラをぶつけるのはおやめ下さい。 他のスタッフの方は、普通の方たちです。
