Frank’s Barber Ningyocho — Local services in Tokyo

I recently visited Frank's Barber in Japan without a reservation, and even though I dropped in unexpectedly, they were able to accommodate me. I was fortunate to be assisted by Hisa, who was incredibly kind and welcoming. He gave me excellent advice on how to care for my hair and demonstrated impressive skills throughout the session.The 40-minute head spa was a standout part of the visit – it was deeply relaxing and left me feeling refreshed and revitalized. Hisa’s attention to detail and professionalism truly enhanced the experience.What made this visit even more memorable was Hisa’s help with a personal matter. He assisted me in potentially purchasing a watch from a Japanese website that’s typically only accessible to locals. WORST BARBERSHOP EXPERIENCE EVER.

First location: As a walk-in, they were full. Fair enough. I saw their proper service—hot towel beard treatments, the works.

The barber redirected me to their other branch 3km away. I took an Uber.

Second location: Complete disaster. I showed him exactly what I wanted—simple low fade for the hair and faded beard on both top and bottom.

He butchered it. Didn't listen. Didn't check the picture. Thought he was done before finishing the fade, just did straight lines. Didn’t even clean up the mustache.

WORST PART? Left my face COVERED in hair. No cleanup. I had to ASK for a towel to clean myself.

Then they charge prices like this disgrace. SHAMEFUL.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ This is the first bad review I ever posted, because this place doesn’t deserve a 4,9. The other location maybe yes I haven’t...

Great Barber shop in Nihombashi area in Tokyo. Customer service is top notch and I made reservations without any problems.

The barber who cut my hair was Inoue. He is very professional, but at the same made suggestions to make my haircut look much better. I don’t speak Japanese, but the barbers here knows their craft really well. Shout out to Inoue for being a great and awesome barber.

You can also support the beer place next to it while waiting for your appointment.

I’ve travelled in other countries before and this shop here really hits home like some of the barbershops in the US.
