American visiting Tokyo for the first time. We purchased the 3 day pass for our 3 days. Get it as it will save you stress. Getting from Tokyo station to the hotel was not easy but we did it. Depending on where you are going there are station 2 minutes and 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Huge vertical name sign on building. English spoken. Check-in is a breeze. 12 floors. Take the elevator to checkin on second floor and breakfast is on same floor. They have toothbrush and toothpaste which is very good at the chicken as well as a towel and q-tips and tea bags and sugar. The rooms are small but larger than the other common hotel that only offers 11 to 13 m². We got two single beds which were organized together. There was plenty of room for two people for three days. No dressers or drawers in the room. Small refrigerator. TV. Two chairs and a little table. They only give you two small towns for the room and two impounds for the sink. Air conditioning was adequate with the coldest being 18° c. We just left one of the key cards in the wall deposit to keep the air conditioning on all the time rather than coming back to a hot room. Bathroom was really nice. Toto toilet with all the bells and whistles. Shower and tub room was also very nice. The shampoo soap and body wash was very high quality. Beds were firm by American standards but extremely comfortable and after a long day in Tokyo you have no problem going to sleep. Betting was very high quality and extremely clean as was everything in the hotel. We could not detect smoking anywhere in the hotel and specifically in our room. Breakfast is the same everyday and it is Japanese style and not western but it was excellent. It is the exact same breakfast everyday so 3 days is about the most we could take of the same breakfast but it was very good and I would recommend getting it. Plenty of restaurants and shops so you don't have to travel far to eat. They are two 7-Elevens within a 1 minute walk of the hotel. One right outside the door. Washers and dryers are on the second level and they were extremely modern and extremely clean and they dispense their own soap automatically so if you're traveling I definitely would use these. Cleaning of the rooms was done while we were gone between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and we never saw anyone cleaning the rooms but when we returned they were spotless. They have pajamas but maybe not sumo size for us Americans or for some of us Americans. This is not the Ritz-Carlton but compared to major US trains I think it was so much better. If you compare to Hampton inn or doubletree then this is so much better so much better quality and so much better value. As of writing this review you will not be able to get anything close to this quality in the United States for under...
Read moreThe location is good, there are two different metro lines nearby and two 7/11 in front of the hotel. However there are some things I disliked about my stay here. The room we had was big and nice, but there is no closet nor a place to leave your clothes besides a couple of hangers, so your suitcase will have to always be around the room. The mattresses are really nice but the pillows (only one per bed) are super tough and I found them quite uncomfortable. Also gl if you need to hang your clothes. We washed ours using the laundry service, we used the dryer twice but still the laundry came out wet and we had to hang it around the room and use the hair dryer cause again, there is no closet and not enough hangers. They only gave us one key-card, so basically we had to go everywhere together. If one of us wanted to stay in the room he would have to wait in the dark. You need the card to use the elevator. For some reason the reception is not located at the main entrance, it's in the second floor, so as a security measure you need the card to use it. The elevator is a major problem, since the hotel only has 2, but has 12 floors and it always stops at the 2nd floor, the reception. So if your are going out between 8-10am it takes literally forever to get to the street. The staff is nice but some of the people at the reception don't speak English very well and it's hard to understand what they are trying to say. We also tried the breakfast service and the food vas not very good in my opinion. It doesn't have much variety and the quality is quite meh. The dining area is very small compared to the hotel so if you want to eat there it has to be very early.
I think it's a very good hotel if you need to stay the night or for short stays, but it's definitely not your hotel if you come to Tokyo for vacation and intend to stay longer. We stayed there for 8 nights and I wouldn't recommend it. I think it's better to spend a little more money and stay somewhere better. I definitely won't...
Read moreThe hotel is very new and clean in a nice quiet but convenient location. The staff are friendly but we are not 100% satisfactory due to our extra pillow request. We are staying for 5 nightst and it will be our third night tonight. Our 7-year old daughter is staying with us so we asked for extra pillow on the first night but was told no availability. I had to use the chair cushion as pillow for that night. Next morning I asked the reception again and was told to check again in the evening but did not offer to provide without us keep asking When I came back at night, the receptionist told me straight away that there is no pillow. I did not give up and on my way to the laundry, I asked another staff member. She gave me a pillow to me without any issue. I would expect Japanese service and hospitality are superior than other countries but this simple request for an extra pillow seems a very complicated process. I shared my concern at the reception this morning and was told it was due to Christmas busy time with a lot of same requests. My argument is I was turned away without checking while when I persisted and asked another person, I was given the pillow. I was surprised that a simple matter can be so difficult in this hotel. Even housekeeping did not do anything for us when they cleaned our room. Other than the pillow, the hotel experience overall is good so far.
Update: reply received from management but did not understand my point:
