The check in process is a breeze, the staff is VERY helpful and very foreigner friendly. There is always an English speaking staff member on duty, and everyone from the front desk to the cleaning staff are helpful/courteous. The room size is about average for most hotels in Japan, but the space is very efficiently used. The first day I came in the room, it felt small. However the layout of the room was so efficient that my wife and I were able to enjoy the room and it felt like the right size for our two week stay!
The lobby is always staffed and has many amenities that are very convenient. There is a 24H coffee and beverage machine, there is a coin operated washer/dryer, and the front desk staff has many things that they can loan to you if you just ask. I do not think there is an item that I asked for that they did not have.
The rooms are super clean and the cleaning staff clean everything including the walls daily in your rooms! They refill the disposable in-room slippers, change out the in room shirts, and swap towels daily as well. If you choose to not have them clean your room, they will leave you a satchel of supplies that they would typically swap in the day.
The location is the best overall location one can ask for. There are lots of food options nearby including Bonbori, Coco Curry, plenty of coffee shops, a 7-eleven, etc. Further, you are only 5 minutes of walk time away from the Kayacho station which can take you anywhere you want to go. This is about two or three stops away from Akihabara (the nearest JR station), and Nihonbashi proper-downtown area has lots of attractions. There's a beautiful large temple that is a must-visit (pleaase pay attention to local temple etiquette, it's a religious establishment and not a tourist trap). The hotel is close enough to the big cities that you are maybe a ten minute train ride away from, but far enough that things are very affordable. Everyone in Nihonbashi/Kayabacho that we ran into were super helpful/friendly and very open to trying to communicate past the language barrier. The staff at the Almont Inn Nihonbashi were the foundation of a comfortable and relaxing stay and we will absolutely stay here again the next time that we visit Japan. The only problem is that they have set the bar for customer service so high that now I'm disappointed with the customer service here in the...
Read moreOne of the best hotels I ever been considering it is Japan and the rooms are smaller than usual. I booked the smallest room possible for a great price and even so I enjoyed my week long stay here. If you need a larger room, they have those but at an extra cost. The room was serviced daily even without requesting it with an available magnet sticker to post it outside the room. It was always sparkling clean, the disposable slippers were replaced daily so I decided to hide the current one feeling sorry to dispose perfectly good ones ( we usually stayed in the room only for the night, leaving early and returning late to see as much as possible of Tokyo). Also provided daily were toothbrushes with toothpaste, hair brushes and even a disposable shaving razor. The breakfast although the same every morning it was very good and plentiful. All kinds of pastries, coffee, juices, various flavors yoghurts and delicious hot corn soup. In the evening they offered various flavors of shaved ice and the juice and coffee dispensers were available and free all the time. Also in the main lobby in the evening were offered all kinds of free cosmetics. Location wise was excellent especially if you are using the subway system, few minutes walk to Kayabacho Station, Tozai and Hibiya Lines and from here anywhere in Tokyo. From Tokyo Station took us about 20 min walk to get here pretty much in straight line on, that if you don't use the metro. The staff was very friendly, always willing to help. During two week Japan vacation we stayed here twice and if ever back to Tokyo, this hotel will be my first choice. Highly...
Read moreGreat stay - would recommend and stay again!!||||||Staff - limited English but very helpful and made every effort to make us feel welcome. Check in was easy and quick. The staff were very accommodating and informative (via email) even before arrival as we were delayed by a few days due to typhoon Hagibis. ||||||Price - excellent for Japan in general and even better considering the location and the fact we had our own bathroom and breakfast. ||||||Room - pleasantly surprised by the room - slightly larger than I was expecting - you have everything you need from a tv, to a kettle, toiletries, chairs, a table and air conditioning. ||||||Location - less than a 10 minute walk from the subway station which has links to the whole city as well as a cheap direct expressway to both the airports. There are a few convenience stores such as 7/11 nearby so very handy for any bits and bobs you may need. The area itself felt very safe and easy to get around. ||||||Downsides - noise water system - when either the shower or toilet is being used, the water is quite loud - does not sound like a massive issue, but when neighbours decide to have a shower early hours in the morning it can be frustrating and keep you awake - this only happened on a few occasions and would not stop us staying again, but just something to...
