Quick summary: reasonable prices, great/convenient location, rooms are decent sized considering it is tokyo japan, extremely good cleaning staff and great staff in general, free: washing/drying machines, ice, microwave all in a dedicated room on 2nd floor, 4 convenience stores within 1 block radius, 3 blocks from train station (2 stops from akihabara, ginza), shampoo bar so tourists can try popular japanese brands ("botanist" was amazing, my hair felt so smooth and smelled so nice), bath sponge, face mask, coffee/tea powder packs, and other neat things near shampoo bar, and the fastest/most efficient elevator I have seen of any building in japan.
Potentially useful stuff for fellow tourists: Laundry bag is in desk drawer, shown in photo. Bag is same size as the washing machine drum.
The room's AC unit can heat OR cool, front desk will give instructions paper upon check-in. Only thing that may be confusing and not really explained in paper, was adjusting wind direction. Up/down and left/right button functions: press button the first time = grills turn left/right or up/down continuously, back and forth press button a second time = grills stop turning in the direction it was at right before button press This is important if having wind directed near your face is not conducive to restful sleep. I didn't figure out those directional settings until the 2nd night, and my sleep magically improved, so just wanna pass this on.
Mini fridge for cold drinks and food, hot water kettle for tea/ramen/etc.
Room (807) was well designed, pretty sure other rooms are similar based on the floor plan. The end/foot of your bed will be a space that is just right to fit about 2-3 big luggages. More space under the bed that could probably fit 4 more.
2 outlets on bed's backboard behind pillows.
Swivel window with good blackout curtain.
Most single rooms can fit 2 people, but more comfortable for 1.
Default clothy sandals may feel small if you are shoe size 10+, but not hotel's fault. Japan's shoe sizing generally only goes up to 10, you will notice this when shopping in ginza.
Shampoo bar was awesome, esp Botanist brand shampoos and conditioners (treatment).
Elevator was really fast.
Sound proofing was extremely good, couldn't hear my family watching tv next door with just a wall between us.
Overall an awesome hotel, felt closer to contemporary japanese apartment lifestyle like when I stayed at a friend's...
Read moreOk, so there are some pros and cons to this hotel. ||||Pros:||It is in a convenient location for the subway line with easy access to the rest of Tokyo||It is in a quieter area of Tokyo with significantly less tourists than, say, Shinjuku||The staff was extremely friendly and helpful both before and during our stay||The price point was extremely decent for over the New Years Holiday||||Cons:||The rooms are SMALL. And, listen, I've traveled to a number of countries. I do not expect American sized hotel rooms anywhere else in the world. But the pictures here do not do the small size of the room justice. We reserved a wide double bed room. When we opened the door, there was barely enough space for us to fit our 2 suitcases and ourselves. We could only get ready on at a time because there wasn't enough space to open both suitcases at the same time. If a suitcase was open, we had to step over it and each other to get to the bathroom. This setup may work for an individual, but definitely not a couple. Perhaps they have rooms that are larger, but that was not our case. ||The beds are hard as rocks. It was like sleeping on the floor. As a woman, I have hips and felt like my hips were bruised from sleeping on my side. I even eventually asked for an extra blanket and laid down on top of that to help cushion it a little. ||Due to it being in a less touristy area, there was almost nothing over while we were there (it was the New Year's Holiday and we were prepared for a lot of things to be closed but not for EVERYTHING to be closed). ||||So overall, there are a lot of great aspects about this hotel. Clean, convenient, great staff. But , for me, the cons outweigh those great aspects so I can't recommend it to anyone without those warnings and I certainly will not be able to...
