My Sept 2018 review (3 night stay)|Dislikes: very little standing space in the bathroom, no live English TV station just prerecorded international news, noisy plumbing and room is a little dated.|Likes: best air-conditioning cause it's super quiet, secure double glazed tilt opening window, secure door locks, good hot shower and very happy staff serving breakfast.|Bed comfort: firm mattress but you sleep well, we had the king size which was actually two single beds pushed together.|Room standard: showing signs of wear, limited walking space, no rooms face the main street but you get a good side on view.|Breakfast: very basic Japanese buffet selection e.g. miso soup, two choice of sushi, mashed egg with mayonnaise, meat ball, tea and coffee.|Wi-Fi: reasonable speed|Access: easy to arrive at the wrong hotel with same name as there are many Toyoko Inn's in the area. Easy to see this hotel at night with its huge neon sign above plus limited English spoke at reception.|Location: safe residential/business area, 10 minutes walk to restaurants, shops, subway|Why I choose this accommodation: just after a simple clean room with breakfast included and not too far from central railway station.|Will I stay at this place again: Possibly, unless I can find newer hotel for similar money.|Tip: 15 minutes walk to Ningyocho subway station for direct subway train line to...

We struggled to sleep for days. The beds are extremely hard (the hardest I’ve ever slept on and we are travellers). We woke up with aches and pains everyday and we are in our 20s! The breakfast is Japanese style, unfortunately not even toast available for us westerners. And they cooked fish which made the entire hotel stink of fish all day. It was thick and horrendous. We had free breakfast and didn’t eat it.

There was no ‘do not disturb sign’ or anything, so we rang the reception and asked for our room not to be entered the next day… we returned and it had. It felt like an invasion of privacy. Japanese are very respectful and we did not think they would steal but simply wished to keep our belongings left alone, and comfortable in our space.
I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone, it was uncomfortable on my body, the smells were horrible always and there is a too large...
Read moreWhen we checked in the staff were great, friendly and helpful. We had arrived far too early for check in, as check-in was really late in the afternoon but the staff secured our luggage with no problem safely at reception. ||||The room was clean and basic however, with the price it was pure value for what you actually paid especially in the city of Tokyo. Located within walking distance were many local supermarkets, restaurants and coffee shops. ||||Walking to this hotel you saw a good view of the skytree in the distance. A 5 minute walking distance to the underground which was great as this was a requirement for us. ||||Breakfast was great, had a small spread of authentic japanese breakfast bits and pieces. Loved it, it was so laid back, tasted great and was a great insight to 'normal life' as if living there.||||One little issues was that it was pretty hard to tell which one were booked into as there was three in the vicinity all named the same. We had walked to wrong one but it was a great sunny day so no complaints. ||||Would definitely stay here again without a doubt and recommend...
