Tucked away in the vibrant heart of Shinjuku’s Hyakunin-cho neighborhood, Rosenheim Stay Tokyo offers something rare in a city known for its pace and precision: heartfelt hospitality and a true sense of welcome. We stayed in Room 203, a charming and surprisingly spacious apartment that easily accommodated our family of three, complete with two supremely comfortable double beds, a compact but functional kitchenette, and room to breathe (and open several suitcases—a luxury in Tokyo).
But what sets Rosenheim apart isn’t just the comfort or the convenience. It’s Akira-san, the innkeeper and soul of the property, who elevates the experience into something truly memorable. Whether greeting us in the early morning, helping with luggage late at night, or offering umbrellas on rainy days, his warmth and thoughtfulness made us feel like cherished guests rather than temporary travelers. On our departure, he even handed us a beautifully wrapped box of Japanese sweets—a small but deeply appreciated gesture that lingered long after checkout.
Yes, the bathroom is compact, and there’s no elevator. But these are Tokyo quirks we embraced, especially given the pristine daily housekeeping (right down to the dishes and linens) and the joy of returning to a freshly made room after a full day exploring the capital.
Location-wise, it’s ideal: just minutes from Okubo Station and surrounded by local eateries and charming cafes like St. Marc's, perfect for a quiet morning bite or coffee.
If you're looking for a stay that feels curated with care, where every detail reflects quiet hospitality and local charm, Rosenheim Stay is a hidden treasure that deserves a place on any discerning traveler’s...
Read moreThe host warmly welcomed us into the property and showed us the amenities available. We were able to converse with him and his service staff members in Mandarin so that was a major plus point for my parents.
Location was superb, just a short walk from the train station and to the nearby Koreatown, and it is just one train station away from Shinjuku. Convenience stores and food options galore.
Rooms were spacious and there's everything you need for a short stay. Any other information we needed, we asked the host and he was happy to share, especially on ideal spots around the area for dining and taking photos of sakura during the season. The staff members around were also very helpful and welcoming, creating a very homely environment for visitors.
The host also has a paid tour and 7-seater shuttle service on request, and he's happy to be your guide and driver if time and schedules permit. During my stay we engaged his services to bring us around Tokyo, and also when we were headed back to the airport.
We had an amazing stay here, highly recommend Rosenheim as your hotel of choice if you're intending to stay...
