Pretty good location very near the Shinjuku shopping area, which made coming here during my vacation quite easy. The staff were very nice and patient despite the language barriers, the place is clean and modern looking, and the boulders are interesting. They seem to require more thinking and problem solving then just pulling hard, which I like. Only gripe is that the place is a little small, and the wall for some sections are quite short. For a relatively tall person like me, the boulders were sometimes a little difficult to even establish (which tbh, is just a me problem and I face this in most gyms), and sometimes the last hold would be such that my head is a litttttleeeee too close to the ceiling than I would like. But I am just nitpicking, the other few walls in the gym were totally fine! It was just this one corner that just so happened to have more beginner friendly boulders, so I went there more. Other than that, everything was great! They sell climbing shoes, chalk, etc. as well, and even have a vending machine. Would come again if I am...
Read moreMy favorite gym to go to in Tokyo! It’s close to Shinjuku station but not in the super tourist-y area, always clean facilities, and super friendly staff (they will also do their best to support English speakers!) The level of the routes are harder than what I’ve experienced in the States; what they say is V# would be ranked 1 or 2 levels higher in the States, in my opinion. The routes are very creative and challenging, so finishing them is so rewarding. Especially because the other climbers there are SUPER supportive and friendly, cheering you on and giving you hints. The only two things I wish were different was if they were a larger facility and if they had a gym area, but other than that, they’re a great place to meet new people (or not!) and work on your climbing! (Also great for people who don’t like the super tall heights at some bouldering places; this gym is very short/has low ceilings, so you can’t go that far up on...
Read moreVery small but surprisingly you will never run out of climbs to work on. The setting is top tier (one of the strongest climbers in the country the works there) and despite it being so small and next to Shinjuku I’ve never known it to be too crowded to climb. Prices are reasonable and if you use their morning only pass it’s a total steal. The small shop is also well stocked with shoes and accessories. Very stiff grading and if you’re tall some of the problems may be awkward as they require scrunched...
