Graveyards might not come to mind when you think tourist spot, but tucked away in the sleepy old-town area near Nippori Station on the JR Yamanote Line and Sendagi on the Chiyoda Metro line, is a peaceful reprieve from the hustle of city life. Located near a quiet temple district, this huge cemetery's main attractions are that it houses a number of historical figures, boasts a unique mix of traditional and modern tombstone designs and where you can meet the ubiquitous cats that are famous to the area. The other drawing attraction is that it is a great place to take a peaceful stroll. Highly recommended during cherry...

Normally most japanese cemeteries seem to be walled or fenced off inside some temple but this is just out there in the open and its massive in scale. Honestly feels like another random park/garden you would encounter in the city but its just a graveyard.

Extremely peaceful and quiet, I heard there used to be many cats around but I didnt get to see a single one which was a big letdown but tons of birds everywhere.

Of you happen to be in the Ueno area I would recommend walking through the park up towards the National Museum and then past the cemetery to hit...

I actually went at the start of autumn, so the leaves hadn't turned yet. Regardless, I LOVED this cemetery park. It's so beautiful even with "plain old" green-leaved trees and plants. I went alone for a bit of a stroll and it was not creepy at all, which is what most Southeast Asian cemeteries are like (probably due to dilapidation). I think this was one of my favourite places that I visited in Tokyo. Do drop...

Misterioso y elegante de dia y de noche ademas no tiene muro ni verja se accede desde la calle. De dia se ven familias de visita. Un lugar de paz en el bullicio además hay unas calles ideales cerca
