I recently made my first visit to this Korean restaurant, and it left a strong impression right from the start. The highlight of my meal was the spicy stir-fried pork – cooked to perfection with just the right amount of heat. What I loved most was how well-balanced the flavours were – not overly sweet or salty, which is often the case elsewhere. Every bite was tender, juicy, and packed with authentic Korean flavour.
Another standout was the steamed egg, which truly felt like a dish on another level. Topped with melted cheese, it was soft, fluffy, and incredibly comforting. It paired wonderfully with the other dishes, especially the flavourful fried rice that was rich, aromatic, and satisfying on its own.
The side dishes (banchan) were varied and tasty – from pickled radish to marinated beansprouts and kimchi, each one added a new layer of taste to the meal. There was a generous selection, and they even offered refills, which is always a nice bonus.
What made the experience even better was the friendly and welcoming owner. He was chatty, attentive, and generous, which made the dining atmosphere warm and inviting. You can feel the passion in both the service and the food.
Overall, this place is a standout among Korean restaurants in Penang. The quality, flavour, and hospitality make it worth returning to again and again. Highly recommended for Korean food lovers – I’d easily...
Read moreNice experience overall at this new establishment in the erstwhile Island Plaza (now Island 88). The staff are attentive. We ordered the cheese gimbap which was good, not great. We wanted to have the boneless chicken gangjeong but it wasn't available. So we had the soya seasoned chicken wings which turned out to be excellent. The banchan (sides) and soup were plentiful and good. Unlike some previous reviews which mention the friendly owner, we were completely ignored by the person we believed was the boss. No eye contact even when she came right by our table or when we were leaving and the staff were thanking us and saying their farewells. Given that she's running a new place and we were at one of just two tables with paying customers dining in then, it was a bit cold and rude. One star deducted for this, but I'm willing to change it next time. Hopefully we will come back because the food is good (would like to try some other dishes) and the serving staff are...
Read moreQuick Gimbap lunch but found 2 types (the tuna and the pork/egg omelette skin one) to be quite tasteless. Not so sure we will be returning again too soon. Such a shame as service was reasonable although the prices were too high for what the dishes were. The complimentary starter vegetables and sausage were OK but the sausage was a bit slimey and the vegetables needed more seasoning. Soup was nice and hot but actual flavour was diluted. Hope you can improve...
