What makes a grocery store a great Grocery Store?
During my stay at New World Hotel, I discovered the added convenience of Tesco Paradigm located on LG floor next to my hotel. My first visit to this grocery store ended up into a visit that I will always remember for the rest of life. All in all, this Tesco has a pleasant atmosphere and looked very clean during this MCO 3.0.
Towards the end of my shopping, just like any other regular Tesco customer, I ended up paying via my credit right after scanning my Tesco Member card. Happy with my small bargain shopping, I received the purchase receipt and left Tesco Paradigm with my shopping buddy a satisfied customer and headed back to my Hotel.
To make a long story short, the following morning, I realised that my credit card was not found in the usual slot in my wallet when I wanted to grab it to make a payment at the Clinic. After a thorough search, suddenly it struck me and I just realised "Did I grabbed my credit card at Tesco yesterday evening after receiving the receipt?" A sudden a rush of thoughts and concerns popped in my brain of both negatives and positives.
I immediately decided to swing by Tesco Paradigm right after my clinic visit with the nonstop rush of negative and positive thoughts and concerns still in overdrive. Fortunately Tesco was just about to when I arrived at the main entrance. After the usual MySejahtera and temperature scan, I briefed the Tesco employee of my situation. She directed me to the customer service desk. Repeating the same thing to customer service lady, she quickly proceed to the Lost and Found file folder.
Lo and behold, she found a note listing my name, counter number and credit card number jotted down in the Lost and Found log. One can only imagine the magnitude of my pleasant relief since my card was kept safe by the Tesco cashier on duty at that time. Furthermore, I also observed that this was not an uncommon scenario at Tesco since I was not the only customer listed in the log who forgot to pull out his/her their credit card at the payment machine. I thanked all the Tesco employees involved for the safe keeping of my credit card. Nevertheless a simple thank you did not feel enough.
So what makes a grocery store a great Grocery Store? A great Grocery Store has good, honest and responsible souls working in the store. Despite the tough hardship during this MCO 3.0 that my entire country is going through right now, I'm truly happy to know that Tesco is great place for everyone to feel good shopping their grocery needs.
Thank You Tesco for your due diligence and duty of care. Great job and keep up the great and...
Read moreBe aware of the attitude of the cashier (India), things happen. . . I took my mother to go shopping during the holidays. I understand that a family can only buy 3 packs of packaged oil. Since my mother and I live separately, we also have separate receipts for the purchased items. Is there any problem if I buy packaged oil? Although we are using the same shopping cart. She (Indian) had started talking to another employee in Hindi when my mother was checking out which of course I didn't care about, and when I was checking out she told me in a bad manner that I couldn't make the purchase, I already explained the situation. I asked her if she wanted to see my ID card and she replied loudly "Yes". Then i asked her if the government had told her to see it? She said I asked her first, yes. . I asked but she couldn't reply [yes]... Who is she (Indian), why does she need to see my ID card? Later, was even more rude and acted like a black society (Indian woman) to teach me a lesson. They said I yelled at them and warned me not to speak loudly to them in the future. During this period, the two women (Indian) talked in Hindi. I reminded them to talk in Malay. This is Malaysia and not everyone understands their Hindi. She scolded me and said she was not talking to me, right. . . I was shouting and slapping your table but it was you who were rude to begin with. After the final checkout, of course I took my things away, but she asked me why I put my things in the reusable bag my mother gave me? It's funny. . . If I don’t bring a reusable bag, can’t my mother use her extra reusable bags for me? Really bad cashier 2 India women, such an attitude really reflects the...
Read moreSuch a disappointing shopping here at Lotus. It was at about 1:30pm, 7/3. No one was at the poultry section. I couldnt get my chicken cut and attended to and gave up after waiting for over 20mins. A Lotus staff came by (an indian lady) and search for a pic of the poultry section but in the went walked off without an update! Later saw her at the cashier counter. What kind of customer service is this. It is no wonder no sales of chicken.
Then I went to the vegetables section and no one was there to weight my vegs. I had to walked and find the pic and call her to weight the vegetables. I also told her that no one was at the poultry section and why is that so. She replied to ask me to carry the chicken over to weight at the vegetable place and I said I wanted the chicken cut and she replied - to ask me to bring home to cut it myself! What a reply! Goodness. What kind of standard of service is this. Utterly rude and rough in the manner.
TESCO may have changed ownership to LOTUS but they inherited a lousy team who appeal slacking and incompetent in many ways. LOTUS is set to fail if they fail to address these pertinent issues.
Disgusted by my shopping experience here. Never will I patronize this Lotus...
