Cocoloko — Restaurant in Isle Mauritius

I visited this restaurant two years ago, and had a wonderful experience with exceptional service. The waiter was fantastic, and I ended up leaving a generous tip, which isn’t typical for me since I come from a non-tipping country.

This time, however, my experience was vastly different. The restaurant was quiet, with plenty of available tables and chairs. When my family and I were seated, the waiter informed us that we had to sit on small beanbags on the floor. While I’m generally flexible, this posed a challenge because my 80-year-old grandmother-in-law would have had difficulty with this arrangement. I politely asked the waiter if the tables nearby were free or reserved, and he confirmed they were free. However, he told me there were no chairs available, which was why we couldn’t sit there. I then asked if I could take some of the clearly available chairs around the restaurant, to which he vaguely responded, “That would be up to you.” I ended up moving the chairs myself and managed to get a table with seats for my family.

As I looked around, I noticed the same waiter giving the same spiel to three other families that entered after us. They all left without being seated. For the fourth family, however, he promptly arranged a table and chairs for them.

The only difference I could discern was the nationality of the families.

It was incredibly disappointing to witness this inconsistency in service. While the drinks were still excellent, the poor service left a bad taste...

We have just eaten here, my wifes club sandwich was just ok - lacking creativity, I had the tuna burger, the bun was crumbly soft and had not been grilled or put on a plancha, first small bite in and had a small hard bone of some sort, second small bite in a second bone of some sort, I then cut the tuna burger open and it was raw in the middle, I brought it to the servers attention who showed it to another lady, presumably the owner, who apologised and went to get me another one, after about 20 minutes she brought me another tuna burger, the bun was better as it had been grilled or was put on a plancha, the burger coating was crispier and the burger was cooked in the middle, near the end of the burger I got another bone of some sort, definitely not your ordinary small fishbone, I pointed this out to the owner who didn't know what to say, I asked for the bill paid and left, we will not use this restaurant again,this is one restaurant I would not recommend to eat in, Perhaps the chef is lazy and not following good hygiene practice, while seated i noticed menus haphazardly piled on top of each other, staff using a table for their bags cigarettes and paperwork, not very...

Cute place with a tropical and colorful decoration. It has a pizza counter as well as an exterior open wine bar which only leaves you wishing you were on the beach. (The beach is on the opposite side of the road)

We were greeted and welcomed nicely and handed menu cards immediately as we were seated. Our drinks were served within a correct amount of time and so was our food.

The restaurant was not busy apart from two more tables of people having lunch. Although it was nice to have some quiet time with friends, this lack of customers seemed to increase the lethargy of the waiters.

Three of us got ourselves pizzas and one person ordered some vegetarian mushroom pasta. Our pizzas were very disappointing. The crust was overcooked for all pizzas and the toppings were not good either. Two of my friends complained first but I didn't but my four cheese pizza wasn't great either. We did not finish and left without dessert. My friend who had pasta liked it.

The worse part of it all is that all my four cheeses pizza ended up making me sick 2 hours later until the next day. That's definitely...
