What a treat! Would’ve posted pics but everything was so delicious it didn’t last much on the table 😂 Food tastes great, size is rather big (enough to beat hunger for a whole evening) we had the scrumptious Tennessee tortas and the Chili Macn’Cheese to share. Chicken tastes greeeeat, the spices that are used really come out and immerse your palate in a whole other universe, the buns tasted like they were freshly made (I’m certain they’re homemade) and the coleslaw salad was unlike any other! (Not your creamy, average coleslaw). It’s a petty that there are so much haters on the comments section, really shows off they’re not used to homemade, high quality food! Compliments to the chef/owner and all of the staff! Thank you for the dessert and the delicious food we just ate! Hopefully we’ll be visiting when lockdown is over....
Read moreI had high expectations for this place but I left disappointed. The service was great but the food was average. The fried chicken was what I would call commercial fried chicken. It lacked real taste and hearty flavour. The rub that is added on the chicken after it’s cooked is really not needed and is actually overpowering. It takes away from the flavour of the chicken itself. More focus should be on the seasoning of the batter and the chicken not a spicy rub that’s added after. Also when a customer orders sauce that shouldn’t mean that you put it on the chicken. Sauce should always go on the side FYI (or at least let the customer know) - all in all we left completely unsatisfied. If pollo Frito / fried chicken is what you’re after you will get better elsewhere and that is a completely...
Read moreI was so looking forward to this, and as a girl born & raised in the southern point of Houston, TX, I know good fried chicken when I taste it. And this was NOT IT. It lacked depth of flavor, the batter itself was not seasoned at all, rather they decided to add powder seasoning after it was fried, which was weird to me. They also smothered my chicken with “hot sauce” which just tasted like ketchup mixed with paprika. The “barbecue sauce” was closer to ketchup than anything. The cole slaw tasted more like pickled cabbage than traditional cole slaw from the southern US. I gotta give it to them, they had me with the social media marketing. But from what I experienced, looks can be deceiving. I’ll take KFC over this...
