Palais Quaraouiyine — Local services in Fez

Do not shop here. Scam! They will charge your card more than the amount you agree upon. We agreed upon $600 and they charged us $6000. We are currently filing a dispute with our credit card company.

**Edited to add: Since we filed our dispute, we have noticed that the rug place has responded to multiple other complaints within the last week.

They are responding by saying that there are malicious “competitors” giving false claims of fraudulent activity and untrue statements.

The only malicious people here is Palais Quaraouiyine. I’m including pictures of the “malicious” shop owners/sellers that we personally experienced while on our Morocco trip. To provide further proof, these photos show the actual sellers and pics of the rug we were scammed out of.

We would have had a great Morocco experience, but these people ruined what was supposed to be our trip of a lifetime for our 20th wedding anniversary.

1 year later update: Our credit card company noticed that there has been a history of scamming with this particular business. Now we understand why our personal bank and other credit card company did not work within this country. We went to this country with an open mind, an open heart and an excitement to see another part of the world. We were swindled out of a lot of money at this shop. Money that we didn’t have. SCAM CREDIT CARD FRAUD - DO NOT SHOP HERE! Please do not let your guide bring you here, they have scammed me by charging my credit card in £'s the price that was agreed in dirhams stealing over £1,000! SCAM! They added an extra zero on to the bill. We didn’t realize it until we returned home and saw our credit card statement. Instead of an amount that was in the hundreds, we were charged an amount in the thousands. When I called they tried to say that the charged amount was the agreed upon price. We were swindled.
