Fez Cooking School at Palais Amani — Local services in Fez

We absolutely LOVED attending the Palace Amani cooking class online yesterday! What a wonderful experience which our whole family (including our two teenaged daughters) thoroughly enjoyed! Loubna did a superb job translating for our chef! During our class, Loubna was full of info about Morocco, the history of the dish we were preparing and we were free to ask questions during the class. It was very relaxed and friendly. We were emailed the ingredients ahead of our Sat am class so we had time to clarify ingredients and make substitutions as necessary. We made a DELICIOUS chicken tagine, which we ended up eating for lunch instead of dinner because it tasted so good we could not wait for dinner! HIGHLY RECOMMEND signing up for the hour long class, set in the palaces lovely mosaic tiled courtyard, complete with birds chirping and a fountain bubbling in the background! We just arrived home from our vacation in Morocco and spending the afternoon at the Fez Cooking School was by far one of our favorite memories that we cherish. The entire staff was warm and welcoming and laughed with us alot!

We learned to bake bread and cookies and the staff shared recipes and techniques answering all of my questions but more we took home a sense of the incredible hospitality they shared in teaching us about the country and the culture. This afternoon, is in my opinion, the actual authentic Moroccan experience in the most beautiful Riad.

All of the Moroccan dishes I was served in the hotel's restaurant were memorable. For those so inclined to bring those Moroccan flavors home, the hotels cooking school will introduce you to shopping for fresh ingredients in the 9th century medina, just outside it walls, and it provides excellent hands-on instruction for the truly simple techniques and sequences needed to prepare them.

The restaurant, hotel, and cooking school staff were all truly helpful, even thoughtful. It was pure joy to be there. I hope to return when Covid19 travel restrictions are no...
