Paskamer — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Passed this cozy corner with so many guests many times and wanted to give it a try. Booked it in advance, asked a table near the window - but we were seated right at the entrance where entrance door opened often and let the cold inside. But it was really warm inside , sometimes too warm and with «food being cooked» aroma, my guess ventilation cant manage all the cooking. Service is great, everyone so friendly and helpful although we could see they had to run to manage all the guests. The atmosphere is super great, all guests so happy, everyone is talking (at some moments it got really loud). Wine selection is enough to find you a match, they have even tasting offer. The food - here I put 4/5 as many dishes were fried. I know fried balls are traditional here but would like to find some healthier options. All the dishes we tried were good though - bitterballs, taco, bavette. Fish cakes were way roasted and too big ingredients mix inside, i was expecting some “cleaner” mix and taste. Wine is definitely superb at this place. Great selection; if you like French , Italian , German or any other wine region for that matter - they’ve probably got it. Food, however, is slightly disappointing. It is well presented and overall tastes good but portions are really tiny. Even for Amsterdam standards. Looks ‘stingy’. Quantity of cheese for a cheese platter is way below what you’d expect. The concept is tapas and that’s all cool but incomparable to real Spanish tapas portions. Service is good; waitresses and knowledgeable and attentive. The atmosphere could be better. For example, I’d expect more comfortable chairs from this kinda place and some nice music. Went there on a Saturday night, you better book before as the place was fully booked. Because of many people, it was very loud inside and we were given two stools next to the entrance.... This already had a bad impact on the experience. The waiter was fast to help us out but not what I would call friendly. Ordered wine from Puglia which was very good but the waiters take too much care to give you exactly the proportion of wine, does not give a good impression. Food is not bad but, in my opinion, not worth its price. Overall, we had two other glasses of wine which were good too but, the place is not gezellig.
