South Of India — Restaurant in Christchurch

We been to this restaurant many times for Lunch and dinners. Food was good as usual but the customer were average all the time, but went today for Lunch again and this time the customer service was horrible, extremely poor - totally rude, no smile, no response to thank you’s, didn’t provide any cutleries/salivates, rude and harsh tone, body language was poor not just our table, he was with all the customers on every table, I guess he was the Duty Manager Venkata. My boy friend found charcoal in his food. I have the photo as well. I was so disappointed that I didn't even bother asking/telling him anything. We all have bad days I can understand but when it comes to the customer service, you are face of the organisation/company, so you should be polite and nice with a smile on your face. Ordered on their online website, went to pick up our order, it was not ready for pickup because apparently they have a new website and blamed us for the food not being ready by telling us that we should have called to tell them which website we used. When we received our food the butter chicken tasted weird the prawn malibari just taste like they had used powdered tomato soup. The papadoms tasted like the ones from the supermarket and the pickled mango tasted off. Our samosas that we ordered were soft and obviously a bit old. One thing I noticed while walking towards the restaurant was that there were pieces of wet newspaper on the window covered in mold. We have been going there for years now , we have told all of our family and friends that they are one of the best, unfortunately thats not the case anymore, will have to let them know not to waste their money here. It's a shame I couldn't taste any of there food here at this restaurant.. me and my partner went there to dine in and the place was poorly managed. As we entered the restaurant there were people lining up to get served or welcome in but instead, we were all standing there with no one to greet us. It was almost 15 mins standing there that I made the decision to go somewhere else. Looking around the place that night I saw some unhappy customers waiting for there food or to be greeted and shown a table to sit. I don't know if I can ever go back there again or recommended to anyone else. But I suggest if you want to try it out, than be prepared to wait for your food to come out to you for an hours wait.
