The Board Shop — Local services in Devonport-Takapuna

The service provided in my opinion is neutral. The staff don't make any special effort to guide and offer advice, nor are they completely unhelpful. They will give basic short answers to questions asked in a neutral way. They wont however ask any questions of their own to gather info in order to give expert guidance. Their prices are slightly higher than other stores with the same product and brands but they seem to have a good amount of stock and therefore a good amount to choose from. I am not unhappy with the service I received but I am not hugely impressed either. If they have what you are after and the price works for you then buy from them as they stock good brands. If you are after service that is really first class and goes the extra mile then it might be worthwhile to shop...

My daughter who is 12 and myself visited this store a few days ago looking at bodyboards. While in this store along with other customers one of the staff members had made an error behind the counter to which I presume was the boss man when off his tree swearing and cursing at this colleague.. If my daughter and I could hear it clearly I'm sure other customers could too. I felt his reaction was totally inappropriate in the presence of customers in the store and when another staff member walked past me I mentioned that this was unacceptable to which his reaction was....oh well and shrugged it off.... Happy to say I took my business...

Mean place to get kitted out. Great variety of stuff and everything is well explained. Outstanding service. I placed my order of a bodyboard, fins and a leash, added a new item to that order the next day, rang the dude up about sticking my new item in with my other stuff so I could save paying 2 lots of shipping. He was super helpful. All the stuff arrived really well packaged 4 days after I placed the order and I live at pretty much the other end of the country. This is the only place I’ll shop for my surf gear...
