We've been to the Thrill zone many times and have got discounted vouchers from Book me in the past for the family. But since business picked up again after COVID, they've tightened up and offer fewer quotas so we've had to pay full price for some of us which is ok which is fine.
What's not ok is that recently we bought two discounted sessions via Book Me ($29) for Omni and two for Hologate but I have three boys so I called to book for one more person for each game.
On the phone, I explained that we are repeated customer since Lake Road time and how they used to have more quotas on Book me in the past, the lady kindly offered to give us the same discounted price for the third person and told me to pay for it when I arrive.
However, when I got there on the day, I was told it's $118 instead of $58. The lady said she did not recall that conversation at all!!! I didn't want to disappoint the boys so I just paid it. I am ok to pay full price for the additional player as we always did but it's not right to promise your customer one thing and turn around totally denying it as if I have hallucinated. We talked and she offered It at the time. It just isn't right to do business like this!
It's a pity as my boys have enjoyed playing there every school holiday and guess we'll just go elsewhere now. What a shame!
Response to your reply Sonja I am very clear what we discussed and agreed so stop sounding like we never had the conversation. I appreciate that you may be busy on the day so you couldn't remember but it's really not right to deny that we had that conversation and what you have agreed.
Our booking was for 2.30pm and 3.15pm and we waited patiently until 3pm before we were able to play the first game as you guys were clearly understaffed so no, you didn't give us extra time, we waited it out. We only started playing Hologate at 4.15pm so it was 45 mins late. And for the racing simulator, we used the free vouchers from our previous visit that was given to every customer, so again, please don't sound like you are showing us special mercy. I thanked Francis at the end of the visit because he was very friendly and the boys enjoyed the games but it doesn't mean I am happy with the way you mistreated me.
From your response, I feel it's the right thing to do to give one star so people know how I was mistreated, I would give negative...
Read moreTheir “outdoor escape adventure” was very disappointing. We were glued to the iPad the whole time, did not see the point of the game taking place outdoors?? The mission locations were way too far and pointless - except for the very first mission, all the other missions had no links/relevance to the particular locations at all. The missions were either too easy or unsolvable (even with the “clues”). It would have easily been a 30-min game, had it been inside a room. The whole thing was essentially a two-hour hike in Takapuna, which is not the best place for hiking. Towards the end we decided to give up the points and just attempt the missions where we were then. To access the missions away from the set locations, we needed a specific code, but the staff could not assist. Also, when asked questions about the solutions, they just claimed to have third-party licence, ie had no clue themselves. Really?!?! Basically it felt like a wild goose chase, not...
Read moreWe visited Thrillzone Takapuna for our son's 12th birthday with 5 of his best mates and I can't recommend this place enough!
Sonja and Seb were just incredible hosts. They handled all the details, were unbelievably patient and friendly with the boys (like wrangling cats most of the time but this didn't faze them), and made sure everyone had an absolute blast. My son even commented afterwards on how kind they were!
The VR Escape Room was a first for all the boys, but everything was explained so well, and Seb was right there to help with any questions they had. The fun didn't stop there—the photos that come as part of the package are a highlight! The boys loved all the props and setting up their own green screen scenes.
We will definitely be back, and I highly recommend it for a super fun and memorable experience - especially for tween/teen boys who need activities that challenge them and keep...
