Minimal air ventilation and no above table air extractor so prepare for your clothes to smell like meat.
Service was rude and condescending when seeking to change from the hot pot to a stir fry grill. We were told it would cost $10 (when a previous staff member told us we could change it without a problem and didn’t mention any surcharge), to which we said that is fine. We waiting 20 minutes and no one came to change the grill so I went to the counter to ask it to be changed again to which the rude waiter said “yeah we can change it but like I said before it will be $10” to which I replied “yes we said we are okay with that when you were at our table, if you could please change it that would be great”. Then they changed it after some time.
Also a tip: when catering to larger groups of people (5+) or even to smaller groups it is in your best interest as a restaurant to make extra patrons welcome especially when there is plenty of space in the restaurant (on a Sunday). We invited 2-3 more people to dine with us but they made it seem like a chore to accommodate more people and we had to move all of our plates and grills ourselves.
The young man who refiled our water could use some more training in hospitality as well as the rest of the staff which had an overall demeanor of hating every second of working there.
Grill was okay, as they put some kind of material between the meat and the grill itself expect the meat to be boiled with black pieces of this material to be stuck to the meat. All night we could not get a piece of meat to have a nice char like we get at other Korean BBQ places. Alcohol selection is good, meat selection is great and wide range of meats. They ran out of Milkis after we ordered once which is not great (especially at a Korean restaurant ordering KOREAN drinks)
Average experience, won’t be back in the future if I have...
Read moreA really great Korean BBQ place! Would love to come again!
Been to a few K-BBQs and this is among the most memorable! The meat and food were presented nicely, and the venue was very clean. A good selection of meats, great for a group setting! Was also really pleased with the Sikhye (sweet rice punch), perfect to balance the food! They also offer a wide range of hot foods which includes fried chicken, spicy rice cakes (tteokbokki), and traditional Korean Japchae noodles, in case you get hungry while cooking the meats!
The service was really quick, and the staff are quick to clear plates and change the grills.
We visited on a Monday evening and it was still busy, so it’s definitely worth booking just to be sure!
Pricewise, it’s might seem a little steep ($43.50 per person) but the quality, and all-you-can-eat nature makes it stand out against other K-BBQ places.
Parking in front of the venue is limited, but there is free public parking on the opposite side of the road. Takapuna also has decent public...
Read moreIf you are a all meat lover then this is the best place for you.
I eat only chicken and went with a group of friends. This place has variety of other meats and only with chicken nibbles for bbq and it had less meat in the chicken nibbles. There was a buffet also with fish cakes, noodles, fried rice and other items. Fried rice was made with less egg and little bit of vege and no taste at all, worst Asian fried rice I've eaten so far in Auckland. Noodles were like completely soaked in soya sauce without any efforts to make a good dish. Fish cakes were good though. So I didn't have any appetite to eat those dishes instead I ate the small cake pieces which were for the desserts. Those were good. However as I said before if you love all types of meat then this is the place for you, my colleagues liked the meat and they said it was well worth for $30. But for me this place is...
