I went in for a full hair consultation in takapuna & spoke with a nice lady Tanya! She was fantastic & flawless with her work! I came in with my youngest son & she didn’t mind that at all which I loved as the other places I went to were icky about it so it was a straight no from me. I did go to other salons but didn’t feel comfortable etc, she made me super comfy & talked to me a lot which broke the ice! She was lovely! I love her! She booked me in the following week (wens) was super stocked to go! Once I arrived she was super nice and jumped into what she recommended for my hair then went on to explained everything from the highlights to the cut & aftercare! She was very patient & understanding in what I wanted to do with my hair! SHE DELIVERED PEOPLE! My hair felt absolutely amazing & your girl left feeling beautiful & great in confidence! I am overly obsessed and am still to this day! I recommend tanya to anyone & by all means I mean anyone! My family have asked about my hair & with happiness I let them know who done my hair & where to go!

If I’m correct my package involved 3x cups of bleach , toner , wash , blow dry & she even went to lengths of straightening & cutting my hair! Was absolutely worth it! I did pay for extra scoops given how long my hair is! She also recommended me really good hair shampoo & conditioner which I totally bought cause why not test yourself right?!

My experience with her was absolutely amazing! She is such a nice easy going person! We shared a few stories of our children & where we come from! All in all I just loved her , her service , skills & everything else that comes with her! She’s great and I love her & her work!

Avoid this place at all costs! I went in yesterday for a straightforward cut and ended up with a drastic change I didn’t ask for. My hair was down to my mid-back, and I made it crystal clear I wanted it cut below my collarbone. I even showed her the length with my hands and explained that I’m low-maintenance, don’t style my hair, and need it long enough to tie back for mahi with tamariki. Instead, she messed up and cut it way too short, it now touches my shoulders, easily 2 inches shorter than what I’d shown her. She didn’t even check if the front was even (spoiler: it’s uneven), curled my hair without using any hairspray (the curls fell out immediately), and left random short pieces underneath that I can’t tie up. She kept insisting it’s what I asked for and trying to convince me it looked good.

I was visibly uncomfortable and kept saying, “Wow, this is so short,” and “This is now the shortest my hair’s been since I was a child.” Instead of listening, she kept cutting and told me I’ll need to style it now, something I explicitly said I don’t do! She even had the audacity to say it would grow back. I felt pressured to go along with it and ended up paying, but I’ll be calling today to get a full refund because it’s unfixable. I absolutely refuse to go any shorter and definitely don’t trust her to touch my hair again. I’m gutted with the whole experience, and now have to wait months and months for my hair to grow back so I don’t look like crap. Absolutely...

Rachael from Vivo Takapuna was my hair stylist when living on the shore. She was always accommodating to my needs & new what I liked which was pretty much the same thing: High/low lights, trim or cut & straightening with flat irons for that manicured look. I loved it. - One of the things I appreciated soo much in Rachael is that if she was away or fully booked (when I’m phoning last moment), she would always ensure one of the girls would fit me in & look after me. Prior to becoming one of Rachael’s clients, that didn’t really happen at other salons (pre-Vivo) for me. So it’s fair to say, this lady knows how to keep her clients happy & catered for. She has an amazing team who never failed to please. Outside of my usual, I’ve had the Hidden Hair Rainbow, a Wedding-Do-Up, French Braids top & side forehead and a gazillion-just-in-for-straighten.
