Haere Mai/하레마이 — Local services in North Island

One of my favorite Korean convenient stores, located in Wellington Central, pretty near other supermarkets such as New World, Countdown, and Oriental Pantry, making it easy to get all your groceries in one day.

The store was smaller a few years ago but has now expanded into a large one with a huge variety of products. Full of everything from Korean/Asian kitchen items and cosmetics; to food, snacks, and drinks. You name it, they have it. They not only have Korean products but also products from other Asian countries such as China, Thailand, Vietnam, etc. The variety there is super impressive.

The staff there are also very friendly and helpful every time I visit.

Korean-run Asian grocery store with a wide selection of Asian foodstuffs in dry, frozen, bottled or pickled form, from varoius Asian countries viz. Korea, China, Japan, Vietnam, etc. It is centrally located (next to Eagle Technology) in Victoria St. and share their premise with the Dollar World shop.

Pricing tends to be higher than some Asian stores and supermarkets except for some discounted items, so you may wish to shop around before purchasing from HM if you're price-sensitive. They do carry more variety than some Asian stores eg. many varieties of dried rice noodles - you can find the exact type of noodle for a very specific dish/recipe here.

I love this store! They have a huge variety of Asian foods and cooking ingredients, as well as on-the-go packaged snacks, drinks and rice/ramen. They also have a small section with pots and pans (?) which I'm sure is useful for some people... There is lots of Korean foods/ brands but there is also a fee Chinese ingredients like Lao Gan Ma and other spices/small things. I think there is some Chinese ramen there too. They also offer skincare and hair products from East Asia, but they are more well versed in their food sales than anything. They have lots of good frozen food options too - from dumplings to Korean hot dogs in singular as well as multi packs, and ice cream too. All around, a really good Asian Supermarket and would...
