Beautiful decor, vibrant atmosphere, charming staff. The food and drinks are fantastic as well but the ambience that's buzzing but somehow also sets you at ease is what makes this place for me. The beer selection is of course exceptional, but with a solid local wine list, great snacks and mains to back it up. The burgers are particularly noteworthy but I recently had chicken bites and mac n cheese, which were also great. Although it can be rather hard to get in sometimes (or to find as it's tucked away at the back of a laneway), the popularity is only a marker of how good they are! Definitely a favourite, can't wait to go back!

Aweome hidden gem in Wellington. Off the beaten path and a wee bit hard to find. The main entrance is actual around the corner from the Google Map address. An amazing selection of beer and the bartenders definitely knows how to recommend a proper drink. I’m a fan of MOA Tripel Savvy, which they were sold out and recommended the Craftwork’s Good Lord. It was definitely on the pricey side, $25/bottle, but damn was it amazing. They have a great selection of beers on tap along with a small selection of liquor. I didn’t get their food, but it sure looked delicious.

If you love a craft beer venue that is secluded but popular with a fantastic beer selection and great food… look no further. Almost thought this place was closed due to its location before looking further. We got some choice beers from the fridge and the ample crumble to share, everything was fantastic. Such a great find in Wellington from a travelling beer loving Australian… will absolutely come back!!!!

Probably getting a divorce..

Like looking for a perfect partner, finding the perfect pub can be hard work and it's often a mixed bag.

Will they look good under soft lighting? Do they like 80s music? Do they vote Green, and will they mind if you fall asleep in the corner chair when you probably should be doing the dishes?

So, tootling off for my first date with LBQ, I was fully expecting a night of disappointment, and to go home to swipe left or right in the "where to" guide of Wellington establishments for my next beer date.

I was in for a happy surprise. A good bar set up, quirky pub trimmings and a family-yet-funky vibe was met with enthusiastic banter, as I was greeted by a "Skiwi" (Scots-Kiwi) who readily informed me of all the gossip, as well as the quality beers on tap and in the well-stocked and varied fridge. Then, nestled into my corner seat, I lapped up some cheery tunes, along with a double IPA, a vintage Hazy and a superb Coconut-cacao stout. And while I still didn't know at this stage what LBQ wears after hours, or if it prefers toast or cereal for breakfast, I was already thinking of a long term relationship with this little beauty.

So, if you haven't gone to LBQ do so. Try at least two beers, sample the simple but satisfying and clean menu and settle in for the night.

To sum up: It's hard to find a new standard of service, beer and banter when Wellington has so much on offer. But LBQ has me so captivated, I've been back three times in as many weeks, promoting my wife to question our relationship. So, while I'm happy to offer this glowing review, I'm probably getting a...

Tucked away in a courtyard setup, this place is by all means and intents a quaint yet visually tasteful and homey welcome especially after a long week of work! Walking through the double swing barn doors you are welcomed by a beautiful rustic tavern aesthetic that is bound to get you in the cheerful mood!

The service, wow, on point! Fast, professional, respectful and accommodating! Here, there is something for everyone! I ordered an orange juice, simple, fresh and perfect! It's good to see that a bar that caters mainly for beers and alike don't neglect the non-alcoholic options with imitating the real thing. Well done LITTLE BEER QUARTER!

Bring your family, friends and work colleagues to chill out here and take in the quater we tend to neglect in our lives for sure!

Now wonder why everyone in there...

Unfortunately we went with our sleeping child, it was early afternoon though, and there were only two other people there the whole time we were there. Still that is probably mainly our fault. Having said that we sat in a couple of comfy chairs when what I assume was a giant, rabid badger started trying to get in by scratching on the wall. We moved away from the badger which turned out to be a staff member, only to have the legs being shifted and dropped one on to another and complete with much door slamming. The beer options were largely mundane but save bay couple of aged sours which it is a real treat to have available. Service was only ok. There are some much better options available like choice bothers and rogue...
