Gear Quality - Average to Poor. We opted for Sports (mid tier) and the skis were rundown. The poles (advertised as free) had worn out tips. The boots that we rented turned out to be very uncomfortable which we had to replace with another rental on the mountain (which were heaps better).
Ease of Access - The shop is in the middle of the town centre which is great but there is no place nearby to park and load the gear which can make it difficult if you are renting for a family. Also if you are renting for just one day, even if the cost is slightly higher, I would recommend that you hire right on the Mountain itself as that will save you from lugging the gear back to your hotel and then to a transport. This will also be good if there are any issues with your gear as you will be able to exchange that for another right there and then instead of wasting your day on the mountain.
Staff - Staff was helpful and polite but was clearly trying to get through the volume of customers coming through the shop.
Overall - 2/5 - I won't be renting from these guys in future. For one day rental, I would recommend renting straight at the mountain. There is a slight additional cost but the benefits (and comfort) outweighs that by a...
Read moreGriffin was incredibly helpful when I came into the shop with some issues I was having with my board setup. I’d been struggling with comfort and control, and he immediately took the time to walk me through different stance options, binding angles, and board settings. He explained everything clearly and gave me a bunch of insight into how small changes can make a big difference in how the board feels on the snow.
What really stood out was how patient and thorough he was—he didn’t just do a quick fix and send me on my way. He made sure I understood the adjustments and even recommended a few things to try based on my riding style and goals.
You can tell Griffin genuinely cares about getting it right for each person. If you need someone who knows their gear and actually takes the time to help you ride better, I highly recommend chatting with him.
The gear was good for the price very...
Read moreOne of the best ski rentals in Queenstown. Four of us were skiing for 9 days with a couple of breaks in between, and these guys were the most accommodating people I’ve ever come across. My friend and I are planning to buy skis later this season, and they let us swap skis between ourselves over 10 times with zero hassle, no extra charges. They also have a lot of brand new gear which really helped us make a good decision.
We dealt with multiple staff over the trip and every single one of them was super chill and friendly always a smile, always a “no problem.” We’d been to a bunch of other ski rentals before landing here, and honestly, these guys are...
