Disappointing Experience at Clip ‘n Climb Northshore
What should have been an exciting end to the school holidays turned into a very frustrating experience, all due to poor customer service from one particular staff member, Peter. We paid full price for two boys to enjoy the climbing experience, but unfortunately, their time was cut short by Peter. Despite having 7 minutes left, he decided to not allow us on the paying climb they advertise.
When I kindly asked if the boys could use the $8 slide, which was still advertised as a two-for-one offer on the TV screens, I was told the tv promotion on the screens is 2 years outdated.
To add to the frustration, we lost an additional 10 minutes of our session as we watched the safety briefing, something we had already done before. While we didn’t mind doing this for safety reasons, it felt like we were penalised for being cautious.
Oh When I tried to speak to another staff member about our concerns, Peter was rude and dismissive. He made gestures behind the staff member’s back and wouldn’t let me explain why I felt my boys still had time to use the paid climbing wall. Throughout the rest of the ending time, Peter remained abrupt and unprofessional. It’s disappointing that a day that should have been fun and relaxing was overshadowed by poor customer service. It’s clear that Peter struggles with handling situations under pressure, and I question whether he’s the right fit for a customer-facing role. One of our guest bought donuts but was told we couldnt bring it in to the party area because of allergies... fair enough.. the food they provided probably had more nuts/dairy or whatever they were trying to avoid. One of the staff there talked to our group as if we were part of a boot camp.... we were at a kids party - she needed to relax. When we asked a staff member to pass on feedback to their manager about her, they said she was the manager.. all the guests felt uneasy and awkward... the room was quiet everytime she walked in... and she walked in MANY times during the party. Hovered around and didnt give our party space at all. Told us she needed to keep everything clean "or otherwise the place wouldnt look nice". Too strict for a place where kids should just have fun. The other owner came over to make comments about some Rules and Regulations.... i guess he assumed what our issue was and didnt even care to ask. All we can do is not recommend them. Read moreOverall the experience was a bit lacking. The people working the counter weren't so much 'rude' - just completly apathetic, and gave us the overall impression our presense was an imposition. Then the young guy running the safety briefing rattled through it like we were interrupting his lunch break. Then finally, we went to pay to try the big slide (have to pay extra) only to be told we needed 10 minutes and there was only 9 minutes left in the session. I laughed at first thinking it was a joke, but no; as my kids stood watching with increasing more upset faces she said we were 60 seconds too late. Then she walked off to have a gossip to her co-worker. The facilities are fine and the overall experience was enjoyable. But really let down by the staff and left with a very bitter taste...
