Honestly really disappointed with my experience selling with recycle boutique I arrived at the store with 3 bags of clothing such as Ed hardy shorts, juicy couture princess Polly with tags Victoria's Secret with tags vintage Harley Davison and vintage tees etc 9 items of my 3 bags were accepted and honestly a really weird selection of my clothing was taken in I understand the store chooses clothing on the season and what's in style but I walked around the store and they had pilled items and stained tights so I was slightly suprised when they rejected almost all of my items I read the terms and conditions throughly before going through with the process and made sure I made it clear that I wanted to collect my unsold clothing after the process was completed when I got home one of my items was listed and I was happy with the price listed thinking I was recieving 50% of the sale price as I read in the terms & conditions the price I ended up receiving was 50% plus minus 15% gst I ended up receiving $10 for the tee which was less than I paid for the shipping at the end of the process I was notified my items had "expired" so I called recycle boutique Newmarket inquiring on when I could come to collect my items and the lady on the Phone told me that expired items mean gone I was confused because I clearly checked the box to come collect my items if they did not sell as they were very valuable and some designer clothes and I was happy to sell them elsewhere and the lady on the phone didn't even offer to help in any way and just said well they are gone this was very frustrating because I had literally just received the notification of the "expired" items that day and was then told they are gone and there's nothing they could do my account has my email and phone number connected and I did not receive any other contact from recycle about collecting my items and have now lost over $300 worth...
Read moreThis store is a complete scam and the staff are nothing but thieves. I dropped off around 100 items designer clothes, Levi’s denim jackets, rare Nike shoes, a fur jacket in perfect condition, and genuine designer handbags. Instead of doing the sorting in front of me, they told me to leave. That was their chance to steal.
Out of a hundred high-quality items, they “accepted” only 30 and claimed 8 were “unacceptable.” Meanwhile, I saw the exact same Nike shoes I brought rare models that are hard to find for sale in their store. Even worse, when I went back to check, none of the items they supposedly accepted were on the shop floor. Staff hide accepted items in the back for weeks (up to 4 weeks or more) before they ever appear in the store, if they ever appear at all. This shady delay is just a way to pocket items for themselves without customers noticing.
This is blatant theft, pure and simple. They are robbing customers under the cover of being a resale shop. Do not trust them. Do not leave your belongings out of your sight. If you bring your clothes here, you risk being scammed and robbed by dishonest staff who keep your things for...
Read moreI have been shopping and selling with Recycle Boutique for a few years now, and I usually have great trading experiences. I recently dropped off two large bags filled with mostly branded garments, and high quality items in good condition that are trans-seasonal (not to mention, brands that I have seen being sold in store). I received a call later that day being told that they could not accept my drop off because only three items were acceptable and not the minimum five. Incredibly disappointing as it seems like the store's curation policy is far too strict nowadays, and this had never happened to me in the past even when I had dropped off less items. The service seems to have gone downhill as the sales assistants there were cold and uninviting - he didn't even bare a smile or say thank you after I thanked him and left the store. I have always been a big fan of Recycle Boutique but this was a very...
