&SUSHI Newmarket — Restaurant in Waitematā

Literally the best sushi I ever had. So different to your usual sushi sold at regular malls or sushi shops, they are so beautiful and creative! Their ingredients are so healthy, you can taste this in their dishes as they aren't just extremely 'thick' in flavour (with heaps of sugar and salt, etc) like some other places, but truly delicious with lots of healthy ingredients. Worth every cent! This is the case for their second store in the city. Both of them have really nice interior too, just watch out for those rush moments where it can get a little busy during lunch and you might have to wait in a line or not get a seat immediately. I was so disappointed with my visit! Visiting Auckland for the day and specifically travelled into Newmarket to have lunch at &Sushi (based on the reviews) ordered the sashimi salad bowl for $24 it had 3 slices of tuna and 2 slices of salmon, 3 cherry tomatoes cut in half 3 slices of radish a spoonful of seaweed salad and quinoa and literally a bag of salad greens. I should have ordered the individual sushi pieces for $16 I would have had five pieces with more variety and tones more protein. The service was also incredibly slow for how long it takes to dump a bag salad greens...

Sadly quality of &sushi is falling alongside the price increases :( ——————- Reply to owner’s comment: I have ordered teriyaki Salmon dish (as I always do) at around 12pm. Price has definitely gone up (which is expected with current inflation) but the quality and quantity (salmon pieces/size) reduced at the same time. Im judging by experience, based on the same dish I buy (from different $sushi branches: Britomart, Parnell (until it closed) and Newmarket.
