Read moreWe had a reservation to see a specific ring. We had been informed that they had the size I wanted. The ring we were shown was poorly maintained. It looked subpar (street vendor level bad) compared to the pictures on the website. The sales person then asked if we would like to see other rings. I said yes, as long as they are within the same price range. Afterwards, we were shown rings that were double the price of what we had come to look for. There was a point where I thought "Do they expect me to haggle at Tiffany?" The sales person then continued to explain that if we know someone who travels abroad, we can ask them to pick the item from the Airport for 15% tax discount. I kept thinking "Am I in the wrong store?" I was there, looking for a ring on the boxing day and here the sale person was explaining me how if I did this, this, and that I could get a 15% discount on a ring that was out my desired price range, not in a style I like and did not fit any criteria I told her. My experience in Tiffany's Auckland store was very different than what I had in the USA. This one reminded me my shopping experiences in Asia. Certainly, it was not in the spirit of Capote's Breakfast in Tiffany's even though the store had the scene from the script on their wall. (In the movie the characters could not afford a ring from Tiffany, but they are still able to get something magical. That was supposed to be the charm of Tiffany & co.) My price range was 1500$. I was only shown 1 ring for that price, and it was the one I made the reservation for. The rest were above 4000, even though I asked a few times whether they don't have anything within the price range we wanted. I was told no. Maybe the sale person did not know the whole Paloma Picasso silver series... I don't know. My impression is that Auckland Tiffany has monofocus sales people who seem to act in favour of the chance of getting bigger commissions instead of providing the client with they are...
Read moreNot a great experience. Couple of days back, I was travelling on Intercity coach and they made a break in this cafe and had bad experience. There was a long queue on the counter for ordering & paying, took almost 15min to reach onto the front. Prices for normal deli's were relatively high even the coffee was expensive.
On the food shelf, some of the items don't have any price written and we don't know exactly how much it can be cost, wrong label on some foods, " I grabbed avocado chicken sandwich as it was written but turned out ham & avocado . This things noticed after leaving the cafe which was enough to lose my appetizer" . After ordering & paying, they handed me a table token but it ended up taking very long and my coach was about to leave. In that situation, I have no choice but walked into the counter to ask them hurry-up, seriously I just asked for grilled my cold sandwich and it didn't show up even in 20 min, how long does it take to just grill a sandwich!!!!. Finally I got my food with a great disappointment and it was also hand wrong protein on it .
