This was my first time visiting. I usually go to Milse but this time decided to give it a go to Miann and was not disappointed ! An older man took carry of me. I wanted to take some patisserie to go on the flight with me but he gently suggested that cakes needs to be refrigerated and will not be good if my travel will take long time. That was very nice of him. Obviously, he cared about the quality of the product that customers will eat. He did suggest to take macarons as they will be fine. It was not my original idea, but then I thought why not as he was offering so kindly. So I’ve got a pack of 6 . Cute packaging! Then I ended up having one of their dessert at the cafe and had a latte to go with. A table for me got cleaned up very quick. I was immediately served a glass of water and dessert was brought to me! Outstanding ! I tried lemon merengue. It was tasty. The soufflé in the middle has a distinct citronnelle flavor. The top of the dessert was made out of thin biscuit with soft merengues sitting on top. The bottom of the dessert was little bit hard. I had to fight with a fork to brake a piece of it. However, it was tasty and crunchy just little bit too hard. The bottom part of the dessert was filled with some crème brûlée or caramel filling. I guess if you would pick that mini cake with a hand it would have been fine, but I eat my dessert with a fork. Latte was nice and not burnt. I have noticed variety of chocolates and homemade cookies. Haven’t gotten to these yet. I really liked représentation of another dessert that was made like a 🍇. It looked very appetizing! But was sold on lemon merengue tart as i love everything citrusy. My visit was pleasant and I intend to pay another visit next time I am in Auckland. I am sold...
Read moreMy first thought was Wow, beautiful:' I was taken away by the ambience, the space was open and welcoming, the wooden decor was homely and inviting, a lovely place to spend talking to a loved one over a sweet and decadent dessert. My friend and I each ordered a single scoop gelato in a cup but only after we were served by a lovely lady who patiently allowed us to sample any flavors we were after. We settled with the bomb Alaska and baklava respectively. The bomb Alaska was a creamy vanilla raspberry flavor with a lovely marshmallow-y texture that was neither too sweet or sour. It was topped with a soft creamy meringue. The baklava was a pistachio nut and honey infused blend of goodness that was also the perfect amount of sweetness. Nuts were fresh and the honey pieces were ultra tasty! Both desserts were decadent and creamy, not too unbearably sweet or sickly and had the same consistency as ice cream. (Is gelato supposed to be thicker? I don't know, just wanted to point that out.) Definitely want to try their...
Read moreGreat place for a rich dessert or afternoon tea or just because you feel like something sweet. There is a variety of cheesecakes, tarts and hot beverages and much more. Great location and they are usually quite busy so seating can be limited. You can also order your dessert to enjoy at home if preferred.
I'd strongly recommend trying the tasting platter - you get a sample of most of what is on offer - it could be balanced out a bit more but it is good value. The biscuits in my milk shake were SO tasty and would be perfect with a cuppa (Earl Grey of course).
Hot cross bun is pretty decent during the Easter season - make sure you ask for a spot of butter. They don't have iced tea on the menu but the friendly staff whipped one up for me and it hit the spot. Iced tea should really be added to the menu now that I think about it! Recently, had a nice cup of hot chocolate to round off dinner with colleagues on a cold winter's night. The choc powder art and marshmallow square were...
