I had the pleasure of spending New Year’s Eve at Casacosco in Panama, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was captivated by the charming and vibrant atmosphere of this restaurant.

Casacosco is nestled in the heart of Panama, housed in a beautifully restored colonial building that exudes old-world charm. The interior design is elegant and sophisticated, with its high ceilings, rustic wooden accents, and vintage decor. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it the perfect setting for a special occasion.

The menu at Casacosco is a delightful fusion of international flavors, with a focus on fresh and locally sourced ingredients. From seafood delicacies to succulent meats and vegetarian options, there is something to satisfy every palate. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented, showcasing the skill and creativity of the talented culinary team.

What truly set Casacosco apart was their attention to detail and exceptional service. The staff was attentive, accommodating, and friendly, ensuring that every guest felt welcomed and taken care of. The waitstaff was knowledgeable about the menu and offered helpful recommendations, enhancing the overall dining experience.

The highlight of the evening was the New Year’s Eve festivities. Casacosco pulled out all the stops, with live music, entertainment, and a festive ambiance that added to the excitement. The atmosphere was electric, and the energy in the restaurant was contagious, creating a truly memorable and celebratory experience.

To accompany the delicious food, Casacosco boasts an impressive selection of wines and crafted cocktails. The bar menu offers a variety of options to suit any preference, and the skilled mixologists take pride in creating unique and flavorful drinks.

In conclusion, Casacosco is a hidden gem in Panama, offering an exquisite dining experience that fuses delectable cuisine, exceptional service, and a lively ambiance. Whether it’s for a special occasion like New Year’s Eve or simply for an unforgettable culinary adventure, Casacosco is a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts and those seeking a memorable...

Poor service; not recommended. It's really a shame, because it's a beautiful place.

I made a reservation for 9:30. When we arrived, we were told we'd need to wait for a table because they were full. (I guess they over-booked?) They weren't actually that busy, and we were seated relatively quickly. So far, so good. We ordered drinks, and then, when we attempted to order food, we were told they were out of tuna and salmon. So, they had almost no sushi rolls available (which are a large part of their menu). Of course, they didn't tell us this until after we'd spent some time looking at the menu. So we found other things to order.

Then, at 11:20, a different server came to our table with the check. We had not asked for it. When I made the reservation by phone that afternoon, I was told that they closed at midnight. So I was surprised that she was suddenly standing there, clearly waiting for me to pay immediately. When I asked if they closed at midnight, she replied that they're closing early.

So I paid, and we continued enjoying our second round of drinks. A few minutes later, the valet rushed over to our table w/our keys, asking us to pay for the valet. This was around 11:30. We had to tell him multiple times that we'd already paid the valet fee along with our tab. (My friend speaks Spanish, so there was no language barrier.)

The best (worst) part came at 11:40, fully twenty minutes before closing time, when yet another server came to our table with plastic cups in hand, requiring that we pour our drinks out of our glasses and into the cups. Keep in mind that there were still guests remaining at at least two other tables at this point; we were not the only ones there.

Our last 25 minutes at the restaurant were filled with constant interruptions, and even still we left 15 minutes before the stated closing time. If they're going to treat their guests this way, they should not be in the...

There was an additional $250 of unauthorized charges that we are currently disputing.

We made a $1900 payment that was to cover the entirety of multiple appetizers and a 3 hour "open bar". When we arrived, we were told open bar only refers to straight liquor, not any mixed drinks. We could order shots of vodka, gin, whiskey, rum, but we could not order a mixed drink that included those options.

After pushing back, they agreed to make mixed drinks for us "until we hit the amount paid" with no further details. We were light drinkers, with many not ordering alcohol at all and others ordering 2-3 drinks over the 3 hour period. They never told us we reached a limit.

We ordered 3-5 additional food items for some vegetarians, and were presented a bill for approximately $140.

When we went went to pay with our credit card, the receipt was for over $380. Our initial prepayment included tip, and we did not authorize any additional tip.

I would highly encourage anyone booking a large group here to avoid. There are so many wonderful restaurants with great rooftop views or ambiance. You can get better food, better service, and appropriate charges with similar views and ambiance.

The food itself was very poor. Salmon overcooked, eggplant skewer unimaginative and lacking in flavor, ceviche the same as you can get in 100 other locations.

Service was very slow. I wanted to order extra food, but during the 30 minutes I was attempting I didn't have anyone approach me so I gave up.

Half the group left early to go get dinner and drinks elsewhere.

Rooftop ambiance was great. I heard good things about the food in the restaurants below where the...

The neighborhood of this restaurant is such a cool place. I love the historic aspects of Casco Viejo. It's very Spaniard in the design with excellent red brick streets. The restaurant itself is in building shared between 3 restaurants. We ordered the Panamanian Grill. This dish came with chicken, pork, steak, and sausage accompanied with petacones and french fries. The duo of dipping sauces to go along with them is ketchup and some sort of chimichurri with mango dip. The french fries were really good, very much of a McDonald's shoestring style of french fry which is always nice because it's hard to just eat one at a time. Salt level was good and fitting for the fries. The petacones were decent, but maybe my least favorite thing from the dish (but, I still enjoyed them). Steak was decent quality and cooked just fine; same goes for the chicken. They give you an on the house petacones fries that come on top of Himalayan salt with some sort of citrus dipping sauce that looks like a queso, but tastes somewhat like mango or pineapple. It was definitely unlike anything I've ever tasted, but in a good way. I had my first Panamanian beer (Balboa) which was nice. It was a little dryer than I was expecting, but I enjoyed it. Their Tropical Fresh sangria was made very well with nice fruits garnishing the glass. Definitely a place I recommend. The bar was surrounded by sand and the bartop had a fishtank tube from one side to the other. Petacones fries with Sauce: 7/10 Panamanian Grill: 8/10 Fries 9/10 Petacones: 6/10 Sangria: 9/10 Overall: 8/10

This is a highly recommended place. It is a small building with 4 floors having a different type of restaurant per floor. The hotel reception told us that since it was just the 3 of us, we would probably get in without a reservation. When we got there we were pushed to go the restaurant on the 3rd floor, Marulo. We get there and are seated right away. But no one came up to us after the menus were given. The place looked depressing and the menu was a confusing mix of international food. Fortunately we quickly decided that was was not for us. We got up asked either be seated on the first floor restuarant, Kobore or we would just leave. Luckily they were able to seat us as there was a table available. Once seated everything went well. The service was very good and the food was a nice mix of local foods that we liked. The crab fondue, was very tasty, along with their signature green salad. The Panamanian mix grill was ok, the Caribbean lobster was good but could have been better. We came in without reservations and not knowing what to expect. The greeter took advantage of this by placing us at their least popular place. Therefore next time we are making a reservation. But overall it was a nice place.
