This is what I would consider a special little hidden gem. It is a very small restaurant. It seats about max 10 people. Two dining tablets with two chairs and then about six bar stools where the chefs are preparing the sushi. You could be waiting a long time if the place is full. Felt that 830pm might be a good time to go or later.
Staff is friendly, the service is great and staff is attentive. Very clean.
As someone who mostly prefers tempura based sushi, I was blown away by the taste of the sushi. Sadly I have only a few photos as I was eating and forgot to take photos of all the sushi ordered. Vegetarian options are available and highly recommend them too.
Suggest trying the eel maki, Philadelphia lovers and cafe special. For the vegetarian I tried the veggie uramaki and inari sushi. Only disappointment with the inari sushi was hoping that it was crispy but the taste was great!!
Highly recommend checking...
Read moreThe definition of 10/10. Absolutely spectacular food with by far the kindest and most friendly chef I’ve ever had the pleasure of dining with. The experience was textbook mastery, from the attentive and personal service, to the artistically assembled sushi. I’ve had sushi from many Michelin starred restaurants and this experience topped all of them. The atmosphere is incredible, somehow both delightfully casual and tastefully sophisticated. A hidden gem that is an absolute MUST try for all in Lisbon (you might have never considered sushi in Lisbon but this is the place to be, trust me).
I want to personally thank chef Narayan for making our night special. I would recommend sitting at the sushi bar as he is what made the experience truly memorable. We ordered so much food and he made every bite wonderful. Affordable, astounding, and ambience — what more...
Read moreLeaving my last review below for reference, but here's another from a year later: This place is still incredible, and I'm happy to see the word is out. I arrived 15 minutes after opening on a Friday to find a seat available at the bar, and people in a group getting drinks across the street waiting for a table at Dozo. The service is just the right pace - it isn't slow, but the chefs take their time making each item thoughtfully and carefully. The price is unbeatable for the quality, and the quality is still just tops. I've been to Lisbon twice and I've eaten here three times.
This was some of the best sushi I've ever had, including NYC and Tokyo. Small friendly place, great service, and a focused menu with a good amount of variety without an overwhelming number of increasingly complex rolls. Can't...
