ESTRELA DO BAIRRO — Restaurant in Lisbon

We arrived in Lisbon on Saturday evening and didn't know of we needed a reservation so we made one via google. This got accepted right away by this restaurant instead of being ignored like by many others. When we arrived we found out we didn't necessarily need a reservation, but better safe than sorry. We travel for food and they had some things on the menu that were on our bucket list, so we ordered the Chouriço and grilled octopus. Everything was super tasty and the service was great (the sausage alone would make us come back). We enjoyed the olives, bread and also the steak with cheese. Portion sizes were good and prices reasonable. A few drinks and a cocktail later we called it a night. We got a little glass of Port on the house and our first evening in Lisbon was a succes. The best dinner experience of our stay in Lisbon. Ajit, the owner, took extra special care of us from the start. My wife is a pure vegetarian, so he recommended and prepared a special dish for her which was not on the menu. Spaghetti in a spicy tomato sauce with broccoli, and zucchini. She is usually not one to finish her dinner, but today she left her plate clean! My sea bass, and my son's bacalhau were both made to a very high standard. They accommodated our tastes by frying the bacalhau instead of grilling it making it much tastier. A lively, festive atmosphere in their spacious outdoor seating area. Attentive care, an adaptive menu, clean comfortable seating, fresh ingredients and a farewell send off with shots of port. Will definitely return if our travels bring us...

Estrela do bairro should get at least 5 stars for helpful service and good attitude. Never have I had a more pleasant meal. Ajit was so polite and helpful, going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Thanks Dil and Gopi for the wonderful care given to us.This restaurant has such a cozy and charming atmosphere! From the moment you walk in, you feel right at home. The warm lighting, and comfortable seating outdoor as well make it an ideal place for a relaxed meal. The food was great and cheap, especially for the area.we had 4 great dishes sea bass.Garlic Prowns ,bacalhau and chorizo.Everything was well cooked and the food filled us.
