Snack-bar Valentino — Restaurant in Portimão

Really loved this little bar! Excellent place for a lunch around the corner from the Jupiter Marina hotel. The lovely lady behind the bar (whose name I never got...sorry) was very friendly, witty and kind, and really helpful in terms of making suggestions from the menu, so we tried, over a couple of lunches, excellent snails, rich pica-pau, gorgeous garlic-infused clams and a fantastic hot sandwich called a Franchesinha. My wife really liked the sparkling wine and the wonderful drink made from almond liqueur and lemon with ice. Really great place for a snack. The chips are some of the best I've ever had. We did try the snails, mainly to say we had tried something a little bit different. Wouldn't go out of my way for them again but that's mainly a matter of preference. The sandwiches look really good and I really regret not trying the Portuguese sandwich "francesinha" as it sounds amazing. The beer comes in a frozen glass which is a nice touch and the place is incredibly cheap. Please note that the staff speak virtually no English so it might be worth learning some...

This is a hidden gem in the marina area in Portimāo. It is a small, quaint restaurant and bar that has a great selection of food options, wine, and beer.

I can easily see people walking past this place, but don’t be fooled. Once you step in, you will find a rich and cozy atmosphere, with marine decor everywhere.

The staff here were great and helpful and the food was amazing. I enjoy the their Charcuterie and had a local bottle of Rose.

Pricing was excellent, with it easily being under 20 Euros per person.
