Read moreI visited your restaurant today at 18:15 and was disappointed with the service and food quality. When I inquired about crumbed calamari, the hostess replied affirmatively but didn't provide further details despite my implicit question about preparation method.
After being seated, our waiter took our order and then seemed to be absent for a significant period. Notably, between 18:45 and 19:30, he didn't check in with us once. We observed our order sitting on the burner from 19:10, yet it didn't arrive until 19:35.
When the food finally arrived, I was dismayed to find it was over-salted, and my sister's meal was cold while mine was lukewarm. Given the circumstances, I expected a more attentive service, especially when I inquired about the delay.
Unfortunately, the service didn't meet expectations. Our waiter didn't ensure everything was satisfactory, especially considering the meals were bared touched, Even when presenting the bill, he barely acknowledged us beyond a "thanks" upon seeing the tip, and do you need a takeaway.
In light of this experience, I recommend reviewing your service standards and food preparation procedures to ensure customers receive a consistently high-quality experience. Specifically, consider staff training on attentiveness, communication, and quality control. Get a manager who interacts with your guest, there alot of establishments popping up, staff makes or breaks a business.
This experience was disappointing, especially given the potential of your establishment. I hope you will take our feedback constructively and implement necessary...
Read moreAs a long term patron of Cape Town Fish Market, I was very disappointed in my meal on 19 June 23. I ordered Jalapeño poppers which were stuffed with cheddar rather than cream cheese. The tempura prawns were tiny and the batter was tasteless.
I then ordered teriyaki kingklip. I was served hake. I spoke to the manager who assured me there was no chance I received hake. She brought out a piece of kingklip and a piece of hake, to show me the difference. The piece I got resembled the cut of the hake. I was told that is likely, but the sure way to know is that the hake has skin on it. The manager was adamant that I was mistaken and that they had served me the right fish.
So as not to make a scene, I left it.
I had taken half of my fish home as leftovers, and when I took it out, low and behold, the piece of fish had skin on it. I rest my case.
Not only is the mistake unacceptable, given the price difference between hake and kingklip, but that the manager didn’t bother to check what I was actually served to establish the facts before debating me suggests they don’t make mistakes.
The fish was tasty, but not what I ordered and paid for.
I subsequently called in and spoke to the general manager, Sonny, who apologized for the mistake and offered to correct the mixup. I have to commend him on his approach...
