We hosted our Christmas party at this restaurant which was a total disappointment yesterday

Firstly the waiter didn't even check on us to make sure we was okay or we needed anything or if the food was okay coming from a 5 star hotel experience I know this is not just a disappointment to a customer but a disgrace to our hospitality industry but when we finally got his attention for the bill which we requested twice then he comes and tells us the service charge is included in our bill not even asking us if we want to tip h or not what is a tip about ...a tip is when a waiter goes above and beyond they expectations making sure a customer need and service is met up to standard carrying the company name not just with a name tag but by a passion for the industry which leaves a guest impressed and a tip is given as a token of appreciation.

Secondly we ordered meals which was just over heated and served to us ....as for my pasta , chicken and mushroom it was dry and some of the pasta was not even cooked to standard I had to wait to get an attention of one of the waiters there while everyone else finished the meals I ended up taking a chicken and chips meal which was another flop I only took a bite and left it has a take away and gave it to my pet ....when I left there I was not feeling well because of eating some of that pasta I complained to my colleague and today I'm sick as hell vommiting and my tummy hurts .....it's clear this is what effected me.

I'm really disappointed has I enjoyed my birthday at this same restaurant and I told my boss to please it's a great and amazing place and now I had to eat my words has this place didn't hold up to their standards and ethics leaving me with being ill and a...

My cousin and i went to eat at Mozambik in Gateway, we normally eat at the one in uMhlanga but we thought lets give this one a try seeing that we were in Gateway. We really had a bad experience, we first had to wait for over an hour for our food to be brought to us. The waiter kept telling us they are unable to bring our food due to a table that's blocking the entrance to the kitchen (lame excuse). Finally our food came, we ate and drank a cocktail and towards the end of our meal we noticed that both of our drinks had broken glass in them.. when the waiter came with our bill, we gladly paid but still mentioned the issue of the drinks ofwhich she called the manager over to speak to us. I have never been so disrespected and undermined as i was on that particular day..instead of apologizing and listening to what we had to say the manager insinuated that we were lying just because we wanted free drinks or did not want to pay for our meal hence the glass accusation (this was after paying our bill in full), the manager kept on asking for proof of what we were saying but his very same waiter had taken away the glasses and serviettes where we had placed the pieces of glass on.. All i can say at this point is i will never eat at Mozambik Gateway again! I have never been treated like that before, even if you deal with low class customers daily who use that trick but do not expect every customer to do the same.. treat your customers...

Review for Nonjabulo at Mozambic, Gateway Shopping Center, Durban

Date: October 26, 2024

I had the pleasure of dining at Mozambic today, and I must say, the experience was truly delightful, thanks in large part to our wonderful waitress, Nonjabulo. Her name means "happiness," and that perfectly encapsulates the joy she brought to our meal.

From the moment we arrived, Nonjabulo greeted us with a warm smile and a genuine enthusiasm that set the tone for our dining experience. She was attentive without being intrusive, always checking in to ensure we had everything we needed. Her recommendations were spot on, guiding us through the menu with a passion for the food that was infectious.

The food at Mozambic was nothing short of amazing. Each dish we ordered was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. Whether it was the fresh seafood or the vibrant spices, everything was crafted to perfection. Nonjabulo's knowledge of the menu made it easy to choose the right dishes, and her enthusiasm for the restaurant's offerings truly enhanced our meal.

Overall, my experience at Mozambic was elevated by Nonjabulo's outstanding service. She embodies the happiness her name suggests and made our visit memorable. I highly recommend stopping by and experiencing the wonderful food and exceptional service for yourself. Thank you, Nonjabulo, for a fantastic...

Mozambik Restaurant situated in Gateway Theatre of Shopping is an epicentre of gratifying food, drink and fun! Their food truly embodies flavour like no other! For Starters we ordered Squid Heads, Fish Cakes, Chicken Rissoles & their signature Prawn Bilene. Living up to their claim, their Starter, Prawn Bilene is truly irreproducible! All their starters were mouth-watering, however, their Prawn Bilene stole the show with its creamy, dreamy cheddar and feta sauce! For drinks we ordered a Raspberry Milkshake, a Chai Latte and Coke. The Raspberry Milkshake was truly something unique and out of this world! For Mains we ordered, the Chicken Espetada, Quarter Chicken & 6 Medium Prawns, Quarter Chicken & Calamari (unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of this dish), And Chicken & Prawn Curry. All the mains were drenched with flavour and veritably a treat to the taste buds! Upon arrival, we were also given nuts in the restaurant's customized cone paper and there was no dearth of tissues, which was easily accessible on the table from the cute dispenser. The service was commendable and the ambience lively and entertaining. Restrooms were also available in the restaurant for customers' ease of access. With Starters, our meal was approximately R300 a person. Definitely a sucker for their pungent dishes and will be returning for more!

Yesterday my husband and I celebrated our 10th Wedding Anniversary and chose Mozambique Gateway to have lunch. We were assisted by Simo who was pleasant, attentive and helpful. We took some time to decide what we wanted to eat. Simo kept checking up on us as we went through the menu. Eventually we asked Simo his advice on the platters and decided to order the seafood platter. We have been to Mozambique Gateway a few times and I must say the food never disappoints. The sauce and flavour from the food are amazing. We had the Choc volcano for dessert, which was so yummy. When we ordered our food I asked Simo if he could write on my dessert plate happy 10th anniversary when we were done eating our food. When the dessert arrived we were so excited that Simo had not forgotten to write on the plate. Simo thank you for your excellent customer service, for going the extra mile, thank you for wishing us and for being our photographer 😊, may God continue to bless you in every area of your life.

I've always heard good things about Mozambique for years... And I finally got to try it..Had a delicious after birthday lunch here forgot to review... Had one of the platters... And it was one of thee most delicious dishes I have tasted in awhile. Free peanuts were also given at the table , which I believe is salted and packaged in house. Reasonably priced for couples or even families of three.. and comes with so much food... The fish was was cooked like perfection.. and honestly my favourite part of the meal. It also came with prawns, calamari, mussels chips and rice... And fried squid heads, which where crispy and delicious (we ended up mixing it in the lemon butter sauce that came with the mussels)(you're welcome)Great spot to hit if you want delicious food and you're hungry... 10/10 would definitely be going here again
