Argentina or Italy ? For ice cream, I mean, of course! I must confess I'm team... Italy. Again: for ice cream! 😇 I'm team Italy cause Italian gelato usually is more simple, more pure, in terms of flavor. Argentinian cream often contains chocolate chips, cookie crumbs or similar. But I love both, eh! 😅 Near my place, there's a new parlor called Hijos de Nata. I literally walk by it every time I come back from picking my son up from school (how strategic! 😉). The first feedback I got from it was super positive. Frankly, I was thrilled to have a good parlor so close... but also scared for the same reason, as you can imagine. 😅 I'm not sure you'll believe me, but that's my wife who insisted on going and trying it so soon, I was trying to buy some time, TBH. 😇 The place is cute and they have a bench where you can sit if it's available. Anyway, the place is located on a square so you'll always find a place to sit. 👍 The clerks sounded Argentinian. So between that, the flavors that seemed more Argentinian (mango and chocolate nibs, for instance) and the name (if you speak Spanish you'll understand), I assumed we were talking about Argentinian cream here.... but they say they come from Sicily in their 1st IG post, so... 🤷 I chose nocciola (where they added chocolate nibs too) and pistachio (of course). Pistachio was kinda weak and I didn't like the texture, it felt like sand. Hazelnut was covered by the strength of chocolate and I wanted hazelnut cream, not chocolate cream. Btw, my son felt the same about his mango sorbet, which tasted more like chocolate than mango and which he didn't want to finish (that's the 1st time this ever happened! 😳). Don't get me wrong, that was correct, but I didn't feel any magic , no wow, no "oh, that's special". And the cream was too sweet for me. And it melted even before it left the clerk's hand. 👎 I don't find this cream worth a price that's above average (€4.9 for 2 not too big scoops) nor the hype. . . . Quality & taste: 6/10 Quantities: 7/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Originality: 7/10 Ratio price / quality: 5/10 Service: 7/10 How I felt afterwards: 6/10

The pistachio and hazelnut were a perfect match. The pistachio had that strong, nutty kick creamy, a little salty-sweet, and super moreish. The hazelnut balanced it out with a smooth, roasted flavour that felt warm and comforting, almost like creamy hazelnut but fresher. Together in one cup, they just worked bold and mellow side by side. Definitely a combo I’d get again.

Hands down, the best ice cream in Barcelona. Heavenly creamy with an array of original flavors you won’t find anywhere else. Try the Banofee (banana and toffee), the Umami (black sesame and miso) and the Chocotorta (dulce de leche, chocolate cookies and mascarpone), Almost Dubai (white chocolate, pistachio and Kadayif), all of them absolutely delicious.
