Livingstone Beach Restaurant — Restaurant in Shangani

This place has a great location and excellent servers however it is not properly staffed to execute a proper service. We arrived at 6:15PM but didn’t actually get our order in till 7:10PM due to the lack of servers given the number of tables. This was especially frustrating (and kind of ironic) because our plan was to come for happy hour (from 5-7PM) and since our order wasn’t rung in till 7:10PM we didn’t receive the deal. In the big picture, the savings between happy hour vs regular prices was pretty minor but it was annoying nonetheless and the entire ordeal left a bad taste in our mouths.

This establishment would benefit if they revisited their staffing numbers and looked to add people to ensure they can properly execute a service - my girlfriend is an expat living in Tanzania (who pretty much eats all her meals out) and after this experience she will be giving her business to the other number of options available by the waterfront to enjoy her...

I went there because it was written on the board before the restaurant it was pizza day, turns out it wasn’t and they just didn’t erase it so I ended up paying full price for the pizza instead of getting 30% off. And apparently instead it was cocktail day, so you could get a cocktail with a discount but this was nowhere to be seen. Had I known I would’ve gotten that. I ordered a caprese salad for ten dollars and got 5 poor slices of mozzarella and tomato. Again the salad was 10 dollars, I was expecting something way more filling, just more food. One service depended on who was serving me, which shouldn’t be the case. Too many expensive, the food is not that great and the quantities are not at all what they should be given the price. Myself and a friend went to livingstones tonight to have a drink. The staff were very welcoming and friendly to us. But while we were looking at the (very overpriced) menu (in USD), thinking about what to order, we witnessed a middle-aged white man who appeared to be the manager aggressively man-handle a staff member. He dragged him by the arm across the outdoor dining area to show him he had forgotten to light a candle and spoke to him very patronizingly.

The encounter was extremely demeaning and disrespectful and both my friend and I were shocked at what we saw.
