I was fortunate enough this summer to do some volunteer work in Zanzibar, and I have been searching for something that can remind me of everyone and everything over there (I am from the states)... and then I came across The Coins Shop online. The jewelry here- well, it speaks for itself. Not only is their craftsmanship alone incomparable to any other work or previous experience I have had with coin jewelry, but the service they dedicate to their customers is 100% held to the highest standard, it honestly is the main reason why I am writing this review. Even a customer like me- just a student from Ohio on the other side of the world. They contacted me for weeks (super understanding of my busy schedule) and helped me find a ring that looked the way I wanted it to and fit properly since the first one did not with no hesitation at all whatsoever. After so much communication, patience, work, and at no additional cost- the owners simply wanted me to be happy with their product and I am so ordering from this place again. I am beyond excited and even HONORED to have something on my hand that now not only reminds me of my volunteering experience in Tanzania but now these incredible local artisans that put their heart, work, and time on the line for me- even if we are over 8,000 miles away. I have been buying products from the coins shop since 2014. So far the owners, Sisi and Phamilli have designed me two necklaces, a bracelet and a ring. They offer the great service to customize your coins. All you have to do is simply tell them how you want the coin to look like and which coin from their selection you want to have. They create the coin for you within a very short amount of time.

I especially enjoy the fact that this kind of a souvenir is very unique. I have never seen a souvenir shop like this anywhere in the world. So once you have something from there you can almost be certain that not many besides you wear some this kind of jewellery!

Sisi and Phamilli are very friendly and honest people who have put all their creativity into their coins and the shop! The prices are very fair considering that everything is handmade!

This shop is definitely one attraction in Stone Town you shouldn't miss...

Absolutely in love with my bracelet, Sissy and her husband did an awesome job drawing on the coin i chose the picture i sent them and cutting it out!!! They are so talented!! I recommend them with all my heart because what they make with coins is not just a jewel but pure art! Definitely worth a visit if in Zanzibar, if not they ship worldwide and getting in contact with Sissy is very easy, she is a lovely woman!!
