Yunnan flea Market — Local services in Chiang Mai Province

It was sheer luck that we had some free time in the morning, so we walked across to the market to see what it looked like in the morning. It's completely different from the night version of Kalare bazar. There are lots of shops selling vegetables, grocery items, pork, beef, fish, fruits and all of them were doing brisk business. You can buy so many types of noodles, flat, glass, ribbon..... Some were selling breakfast items, while some sold household items. Thai food we eat in the restaurants or road side food stalls are mostly meat or fish and have very little vegetables. This market betrays that experience. So many varieties of vegetables (it was no different from an Indian market, all known veggies were there) were being sold. I wonder where do they end up and why the dishes served in the eateries have no vegetables at all!! Everything you get is fresh and the price is very reasonable. I even saw a lady getting a knee message from a guy with a rubber mallet and probably a wood stub. The mallet is called Tok Sen in the local language. It's supposed to be a popular treatment for joint pain, arthritis etc. Saw many customers go back to their cars with handful shopping bags. The absence of crowd and noise of night time of Kalare bazar was noticeable. I will remember this trip to the morning market for...

Really nice local fresh market especially for halal options. You can even have fresh beef and mutton as well as some shops sell curry mutton and beef. There have some special snacks like rice vermicelli milk pudding, sticky rice pudding, and so on. It also has Indian spice shop. The prices are quite reasonable and some are even cheaper than sub district local market. Even though it only opens on Friday, it is worth visiting if you love...

One of the best place to go in Chiang Mai... You have to go before noon on Friday... The vibe is totally different then the Night Markets...
